sanctity454:this contract was moving with light speed when it first started during last administration, How they choose to be on a snail speed still baffles me. But honestly that area, federal government should intervene because it houses 2 federal institutions.. I don't know if those 2 VCS can't lobby all these contracts towards that side.. And all these lodges and houses along those areas.. can't they landlords organise and work on the roads that leads to their houses? Must everybody wait on the gorvernment all the time? Happy democracy day all.. one love 1 Like |

The Cubana Chief Priest aka the celebrity bar man was spotted among the fleet of Engr. Innocent ikpamezie the General Manager OCDA during his routine inspection at new Owerri. The OCDA boss observed that builders, developers and land owners at new Owerri have already started to engage in gross misconduct of erecting buildings, fences, lock-up shops etc on the verge. Also Hon. ikpamezie and team noticed that the front gate of Imo secretariat has been metamorposed to the second "Ekeonuwa market" in conjunction with Arugo park. He immediately halted his convoy and peacefully restored sanity (without using force) at the interface of the State secretariat. Patiently waited for the women selling perishables to park their goods into the nearest compound to avoid defacing the entrance of the Imo Secretariat. He further advised Imo people that Imo is one of the most organized cities in Nigeria. Let's do the right thing even when no one is watching. #AudacityOfHope #GovernmentofSharedProsperity #HopeNewAndElectronicMediaCenter 1 Like

asha80: You are from Owerri, usually smarter than many folks like Yamandpotato from Orlu. Umuagwo is closest to Owerri which reaps most of the fruits of Imopoly. Owerri and its people shall continue to reap the fruits of converting Imopoly to University, that’s another university near Owerri. More than 95% of the people in Orlu zone are not close to Umuagwo in Orlu zone. Once we open another university in Umuagwo, Imo state government can’t afford to finance another university needed by majority of the people in Orlu senatorial zone. |

Personally, i don't like it when they build beautiful struvtures like this in rural areas or dense Forrest. It should've added beauty to our urban areas if it was built in an urban area that's not too densely populated. We need to build and muster masterpiece building together to help achieve a modern skyline/city view 1 Like |

NwaforIgbo:Your right, but remember it's a private teaching hospital to an already private university close by, so it will be out of place to sight these in owerri, heck even Neuro Surgeon world class hospital is sited in Mgbirichi |

NwaforIgbo: The hospital was sited along Enugu - PH expressway. That makes it very strategic and an accessible lifesaver for accident victims along that route. Now, I am glad they kept the hospital in Okigwe to serve the town and environs. Everything must not be in Owerri or one city. We should learn to imagine a totally developed Imo state with Owerri, Okigwe, Oguta and Orlu as four major cities in the state. I am glad about it's modern design than the usual square-box design we are used to in Igboland. The pictures below is a new four storey private hospital in northern Ghana! Notice how they gave it a modern design too. We must task our architects to be a little more creative than lazily copy the square-box design of the 1950s in building public facilities. The same mindset of wanting to build only in "developed" towns is why I still see many Igbos still investing their life's savings in Abuja and Lagos convincing themselves that they are "developed" cities rather than building in Owerri! To begin with, if nobody brings their investment home, then who will develop home to a place where it can be called "developed" cities? By the way, have they forgotten they are Igbo when they are burying their years of toil as buildings in Lagos and Abuja, with nothing tangible at home? Are they blind about Nigeria? Can't they see?? Anyhow, na dem sabi! Everyman must pay dearly for his own foolishness. 5 Likes

Cjrane2: Before we talk about developing other places, lets focus on Owerri first. Cuz its not even a standard town yet. |

sanctity454: Will this be powered by lift? Cos e no go make sense to dey trek 6-storey staircase for hotel o. Electricity has really hampered the construction of high-rise buildings in Nigeria, but then when we consider that Europe doesn't have much highrise building, we gat to let it slide |
