The only people seriously clamoring for power to remain in the north are south easterners for envious reasons. Their thinking is if they can’t get it, let’s ensure no one from the south gets it.

Atiku is only flowing along with the wave that these people from the south are pushing. No serious person is giving the idea a thought other than those who intends to create chaos and confusion. Good enough, they are not strong enough to cause any serious political disruption. Reasonable and well meaning Nigerians who are not motivated by envy and hate shall always prevail.

Im from delta state and will never vote a yoruba man for president

They betrayed Jonathan..

Now that you agreed you took the deceitful approach as revenge then we can move on from that. The SW betrayed the South by making Bubu who had contested 3 times and was rejected for good reason to win in 2015. From the failures in all fronts from Bubu, we are right to have voted against him.
LegendHero:

What should I do with the numbers?

Where is the numbers of the 2015 presidential election in the SW? Why do your kinsmen keep saying Yoruba betrayed Jonathan if vote is only by the numbers?

Do you even know Jonathan got roughly 1.8million votes in the SW in 2015?

Do you know the vote he got in the SE is roughly 2.3million votes?

So because of the difference of 500k vote, you igbos have been shouting since that Yoruba betrayed him.

Are you not being an hypocrite by asking me for the numbers?

This same man called SayGay supported a Fulani of the northern extraction to be president against his own south-south brother GEJ. Foolish man! Fulani will continue to rule Nigeria till the next 200 years to come. Thunder fire anyone against a northern rule bro!
That is the problem.

Hypocrisy.

They capitalized on the north to defeat Jonathan in 2015.

Now they don't want the pdp to do the same.

Na by force.. If your region is not interested in 2023 presidency, why not allow other region from the South to try their luck.

Saboteur Dem.. undecided
Your region should have come out against Jonathan in 2015.

It should have been south west against south south if you feel you needed the presidency.

I still stand on my earlier post. Abiola won ALL the southern states except Imo, Abia, Enugu, and Rivers.

SW and the south never made an pact in the first place so what is there to betray? What is the correlation between SW that is APC and the SS that is PDP? How did betrayal come into the picture?

Sometimes, I think you guys just bandy words without knowing the true meaning. When did PDP start accusing people in APC of betrayal for voting their party presidential candidates?

When did the Yorubas made an agreement with Jonathan to warrant betrayals?

Can you please cite a source where Jonathan made a pact with Yorubas that they betrayed?

So you mean APC SW betrayed Jonathan PDP by voting for their presidential candidate?

Even the Yorubas in PDP that gave Jonathan almost 1.8million votes in 2015, what is their gain? Did Jonathan not abuse them later after they went to meet him?

Don't mind them.
They forget Apc and PDP are different.

Why didn't GEJ step down and let north contested in 2011 to complete their tenure?

Or is there no zoning then cheesy

PDP --- it's the turn of North

APC --- It's the turn of South

Stop this unnecessary revisionism of an event that happened less than 30 years ago.

Gen Ibrahim Babangida during a televised broadcast annulled the election and not any Judge. I am a living witness because I watched the broadcast live in 1993.

The north deserves to take another shot at the presidency for another 8 years. This is because Buharii has misrepresented us by not leaving a good legacy. We want to elect another northerner to clear the name of the north.

Again, the south west fought against Buharii so much with their strong media. Deji Adeyanju, fayose, FFK, and Afenifere has remained in the lead of those who criticise buharri . We cannot alow tinubu or osibanjo who has bitter mind against Buharii to take over because of retaliation.

God won't allow that for sure

You guys just turn English upside down. When did Tinubu made a pact with Jonathan in 2015 election that could cause a betrayal?

How did Tinubu betray Jonathan? Can someone in APC betray someone in PDP by voting for the presidential candidate of his party?

Buhari that you and your people brought upon Nigeria has proven to be the worst PRESIDENT since 1999 but the North stuck to him, even in their current calamity and predicament marred by insecurity, they have not called for his removal...

what did you and your sick people do to your own southern neighbour in 2015? what was your reason for working against him?

you want presidency in 2023? come and take it!

Lol. Your people are fourth fiddle in Nigeria politics with no political relevance. Why should we seek the presidency from you in the first place?

@the bolded, how can you give something you never have in the first place. Give the presidency to your people first if you have the powers!

Igbos are 5% with no political relevance. Queue behind the North like your ancestors always do in 2023, you will be roundly defeated!

I am from the north but your analogy is one sided. How can you say VP and Tinubu have bitter mind against buhari? The same people who have been behind his success. Or is it the success of Buhari's two victories we should talk about?

In what way has any of the two people you mentioned against Mr. President? Care to mention ?

Hate him or like him,he will always speak his mind..some northern elements are wicked and greedy ,let's see the body language of Mr President over this matter. If he favours the North, then we better start argitating for the division of the nation to avoid further set back like Babangida did in June 12 1993 and later turned around to foster his own interim choice candidate on the nation.. Many of these men will suffer before they die as God liveth .

Ojiofor:

There was a reason the powers that be at that time released him from prison and those power brokers determines who rules Nigeria.
The plan to make OBJ president was signed and sealed before he was set free from prison and Ekwueme couldn't have stop it.

Osinbajo will get nothing less than 35% of the votes in the SS if he contests against a Northerner in PDP.

What made you think the North is currently monolithic? Do you think there is any politician in the North today that can amass bloc vote like Buhari? You guys don’t understand politics.

Yorubas will approach 2023 diligently as friends with the Northerners and not enemies like Awo always do. This time around we will learn from the Igbos and make sure the alliance we formed with the North for the first time remain unshaken!

Just keep your cool and may God grant us long life to see 2023 and beyond!

Many of you think this is a matter of Igbos vs Yoruba but you are not seeing the kind of precedence that Tinubu is setting. Last election, we saw what he did to igbos in Lagos but you are in the U.S defending a man's strategy that could destroy the country even more.

As I type, a group of Yoruba boys are already keying into such style and saying Igbos must leave south West. But dont worry. whether Nigeria will remain one after 2023, we will all see it!

Repeating a lie every time won’t make it the truth. Stop lying just to make a point. Obasanjo wasn’t gifted PDP ticket at any point. He contested for the ticket against Ekwueme in 1999 and 2003. I watched the primary elections live on AIT on both occasion.

Power will return to the south in 2023 and I will encourage the Igbos to come out and contest like they did in 1999 and 2003. I will support whoever wins the ticket of APC irrespective of tribe.

Are you this ignorant or just trying to be mischievous?

Where the presidency would go in 1999 was already decided even before Abdulsalam Abubakar set the ball rolling for a return to democratic governance.

Obj was picked and supported by Northern power brokers just to mollify the Southwest for the June 12 injustice.
The AD ticket was also ceded to Olu Falae, just to ensure that a Yoruba man got the presidency regardless of the election outcome.

That Ekwueme contested the 1999 PDP primaries was just to portray the process as being democratic; akin to how the late Abubakar Rimi also slugged it out with OBJ in the 2003 primaries.

1999-2007 presidency was a gift to the SW.

My advice to you is this:
Don’t push the Yorubas to the wall because looking at how you igbos are doing in the SW, you may soon be given the Northern treatment in the west.

When you don’t know how to talk, you will definitely get the result of your action.

Yoruba never held the Igbos down in the first place.

Even when they killed our premier and leaders in the coup, we never retaliated like the Northerners did.

We just responded with full force when they invaded through Ore our land and the rest is history.

I don’t care about Biafra, it’s none of my business whether you leave or stay. Stop disturbing the Yorubas and man up to face the Northerners that are actually holding you down.
