Osinbajo will get nothing less than 35% of the votes in the SS if he contests against a Northerner in PDP.

What made you think the North is currently monolithic? Do you think there is any politician in the North today that can amass bloc vote like Buhari? You guys don’t understand politics.

Yorubas will approach 2023 diligently as friends with the Northerners and not enemies like Awo always do. This time around we will learn from the Igbos and make sure the alliance we formed with the North for the first time remain unshaken!

Just keep your cool and may God grant us long life to see 2023 and beyond!

The North is hardly ever monolithic; and I have never held a contrary opinion...but yes, any formidable (Muslim) Northerner can amass bloc votes (from the NE and NW) especially when contending with a Southerner.

I'd take the bolded portion as an admission that the hope of reciprocity (on which most South Westerners hinge their 2023 presidential aspiration) isn't bankable in politics. cheesy grin

As things stand, only a solidly-united South (which I don't envisage) can stop Atiku in 2023.

Are you suggesting that all parties ban all Nigerian aspirants from contesting their Primaries unless they are Igbos?

Anyhow, they should do it the Nigerian way of doing things, turn by turn things you know.If it's not turn by turn why are they asking northerners not to contest?

The north deserves to take another shot at the presidency for another 8 years. This is because Buharii has misrepresented us by not leaving a good legacy. We want to elect another northerner to clear the name of the north.

Again, the south west fought against Buharii so much with their strong media. Deji Adeyanju, fayose, FFK, and Afenifere has remained in the lead of those who criticise buharri . We cannot alow tinubu or osibanjo who has bitter mind against Buharii to take over because of retaliation.

I will rather vote a Northerner than allow South West have it.

Yoruba never held the Igbos down in the first place.

Even when they killed our premier and leaders in the coup, we never retaliated like the Northerners did.

We just responded with full force when they invaded through Ore our land and the rest is history.

I don’t care about Biafra, it’s none of my business whether you leave or stay. Stop disturbing the Yorubas and man up to face the Northerners that are actually holding you down.

The person that killed is whom you guy currently regard as SS but bears an igbo name.... take note.

At the emboldened, you lie... when Igbos were being killed in their land, were you people not rejoicing? has the death not gone round now? has every region not had to contend with death and blood in their land because of your almight Buhari?

Why are you guys now worried about the position ( Presidency) you Are not interested in?

You're dealing with a people that knows how to kill snakes. Igbos and Niger Deltans will vote North.

I hope you get your votes from Ghana.

So let APC zone their ticket to SW and PDP to North. We will support the North until equity enters your dictionary!
LegendHero:

I still stand on my earlier post. Abiola won ALL the southern states except Imo, Abia, Enugu, and Rivers.

SW and the south never made an pact in the first place so what is there to betray? What is the correlation between SW that is APC and the SS that is PDP? How did betrayal come into the picture?

Sometimes, I think you guys just bandy words without knowing the true meaning. When did PDP start accusing people in APC of betrayal for voting their party presidential candidates?

You guys just turn English upside down. When did Tinubu made a pact with Jonathan in 2015 election that could cause a betrayal?

How did Tinubu betray Jonathan? Can someone in APC betray someone in PDP by voting for the presidential candidate of his party?

"...betrayed the South" he meant.
Apparently the "betrayal" game will be evened in 2023. wink

The only people seriously clamoring for power to remain in the north are south easterners for envious reasons. Their thinking is if they can’t get it, let’s ensure no one from the south gets it.

Atiku is only flowing along with the wave that these people from the south are pushing. No serious person is giving the idea a thought other than those who intends to create chaos and confusion. Good enough, they are not strong enough to cause any serious political disruption. Reasonable and well meaning Nigerians who are not motivated by envy and hate shall always prevail.
Oga,it is either south east or north continue for ever.....there is nothing you can do about it.........South will never be united till thy kingdom comes.

Actually, it is Igbos that are gloating all over social media over the political crisis in Edo. In fact, political leaders from south west have tried their bit to settle the crisis without success.

The people of Edo State are our brothers and sisters. What binds us together is stronger than what politics of division and confusion that you are trying to play can divide. Your attempt to blame the south west for the Edo crisis only goes to show how desperate you guys have gone in your evil plot to malign a people that have done nothing against your people. As usual, you have failed. Darkness shall never prevail over light.

Apart from the fact that a Yoruba man singlehandedly nominated Jonathan to be Vice President, the entire Yoruba nation fought for him to be made acting president in 2010 even when Igbos led by Vincent Ogbulafor the then PDP national chairman wanted the cabal of dead Yar’Adua to continue ruling illegally.

We voted massively for him again in 2011 based on the agreement that he would rule for a single term having ruled for some of Yar’Aduas term.

In 2015, he went against the agreement and we voted to preserve the agreement and the sanctity of the rotational agreement between the south and north. In addition, his tenure was riddled with corruption and incompetence.
but this present government is more corrupt and incompetence is on its peak MN

It was Igbos like Dora Akunyili and Ojo Maduekwe who were ministers that fought more than any other group to ensure GEJ emerged as the acting president.

In 2011, it was only about a week before the election that Tinubu started supporting gej when it was obvious gej was going to win, and as a matter of fact, sw votes were meagre in that election. In fact a Yoruba state voted against gej, and if not for the massive Igbo votes in Lagos state, Yorubas in that state voted against gej.

So stop selling your usual false "facts"

Justice and equity demands that APC should give its ticket to somebody from a region where the party is popular and accepted and not to a region that has demonized and done everything humanly possible to crush the party. Do you agree?

In 1999, APP was not popular in the sw yet when APP and AD decided to work together, the much smaller AD was allowed to provide the presidential candidate.

Ogbonnaya Onu was sacrificed.
If Tinubu will not sacrifice his ambition for an Igbo presidential candidate, just like an Igboman did in 1999, then zoning is dead. The north will be free to contest

The bigger question is can REASON overcome Igbo hatred for Yorubas?

Notwithstanding whether Igbos even support the North again, l am sure that in order of priorities, the Northerner would rather give Presidency to the South West that the East.
But Igbos can change that, if they ally with the South West. Only the South West is friendly enough to allow an Igbo Presidency.
Rub my back and l rub your back.
Yorubas are less apprehensive and antagonistic of an Igbo Presidency, compared to the Northerner, those ones dont even want to hear of it, they would rather plan a coup than allow an Igbo person to be President.
An alliance between SW and East would neutralise that and who knows, Regionalisation or outright separation might even be on the cards.

So, why did the Igbos put up Ekwueme to contest against him in 1999 if truly there was a consensus that power should go to the south west? When Obasanjo wanted a second term, how come it was the same Igbo man Ekwueme that opposed him again? Why?

On the two occasions, Yorubas never accused the Igbos of betrayal. We believe that since the presidency was zoned to the south, all interested southerners should be allowed to legitimately contest for the position.

We are urging you guys to take the same position you took in 1999 and 2003. Come out and contest and stop blackmailing others. If you are not ready to contest, kindly keep quiet and stop making empty threats all over the place.

Primaries are different from presidential elections.

During the presidential election of 1999, Igbos supported a Yoruba candidate Obasanjo
