I want to ask a critical question no body as asked, why did BHT attack during the day? Usually they attack at night and would have had better chances in they came around 6pm.

1 ) could it be a new and inexperienced leader, that believes too put in brute force and not really on brain power? Willing to sacrifice even the live of his men, and civilians?

2)is there certain intelligence bht have that pushed them to attack at that time, like maybe they know they wont be able to hold the base for long, so they decided to start the attack early, knowing it would be a long drawn battle, and if they had success , loot the base under the cover of night and disappear.

3) just plain incompetence by the bht top echelon or under estimation of Nigeria troops to stay and fight, like the Niger usually do.

Well who cares undecided , their loss is our win and the most important thing is that our troops gave them a bloody nose.

You have to care for little details like this, if you are going to be effective , else you will be caught lagging behind.

Yeaaa sometimes they do this to prove a point. Sometimes the Amir wants to prove to other Amirs that he is a brute Force to be recognised on the hierarchy.

There is definitely no how they could take over Monguno with that number of fighters and hardwares. ISWAP can never overun Monguno except they will assemble all ISWAP in the lake Chad basin for a full scale war. 12 Guntrucks cannot overun Monguno. Monguno got not less than 2000 soldiers in a well protected Military barracks not some abandoned school or LGA Secretariat some locations use as FOB.

The Airforce always responds fast to Monguno from what I have observed staying there. Baba if ISWAP overuns Monguno which will never happen just consider Lake Chad Basin is finished. Every Civilian in Northern Borno will run away.

Tho there is one FOB ISWAP are always scared of attacking as they have never overun it. Be like Soldiers bury Rams for that FOB. Even when they took over Baga town and destabilized Kukawa towns they tried almost everyday to take over that FOB, But those soldiers fought gallantly daily.

Kekeno cheesy.

The windshield armour on the ISWAP up-armoured SVBIED captured by NA near Monguno on June 13th looked interesting, and is actually an armour section with two hatches transplanted from a seized Swiss-made Mowag Piranha 6x6 AFV. ISWAP captured at least 1 of these in Baga, Dec 2018

Another Mowag Piranha 6x6 AFV was captured by ISWAP a year ago in an attack on the Nigerian Army at Marte, on June 4th, 2019.

In news that would gladden the hearts of many Nigerians but will be distressing to "the miserable one" tongue
it is being reported that the NA killed the most wanted ISWAP commander Amir Imar on Sunday June 14th
in Marte LGA of Borno State he was the butcher of Gubio last week .
This week he is fertilizer material.

HQNigerianArmy strike gold as leading Boko Haram Commander known as Amir Omar, believed to be the Chief Commander of ISWAP fighting forces was killed in a fierce encounter with elements of HQNigerianArmy troops in Marte on Sunday 14 June 2020.
Amir Imar was the strategic brain behind the recently coordinated attacks by newly appointed Commanders who attacked Monguno, Gubio, Nganzai recently.
Amir Imar was known to have close ties with JAS & BokoHaram strongman Abubakar Shekau and often visited the leader with ‘many lives’ in his stronghold at Sambisa Forest. He also doubled as the commanding officer for ISWAP faction especially after both jihadist groups agreed to establish a coalition of convenience against the Nigerian frontline troops & MNJTF.
MNJTF Lake Chad contributing troops. Imar had directed several attacks against the Nigerian army troop formations including attacks at Garunda, Metele and other strategic military locations in the shores of Lake Chad.

Probably the V.B.I.E.D driver is not ready to meet his 72 virgins, he fled when he heard the sound of NAF Alpha jets strikes.
Abandoning the sucker vehicle and ran for his dear life ?
