Yea that special quality always comes in handy, just like it did against Algeria, Argentina, Croatia, the almighty Madagascar et al grin

Well he did finish as Afcon highest goal scorer and the qualifiers highest goal scorer et al and I can also mention the matches where this special quality came in very handy

wink

I don't think experience really matters in football nowadays. Football now thrives on ability and capabilities rather than experience. Guys like Sancho, Haaland, Mbappe have proved that age is just a number.

lmfao
Ever heard the phrase "Experience lo matter", People agreed that we crashed out of the world cup due to inexperience and we're talking about National team football not club football I don't know why you're mentioning Sancho and haaland

You mean those moments against Seychelles and Lybia? Do you know that as bad as a player like Musa is, he is highly dreaded in cities like Rosario, Buenos Aire et al, now these are what we call moments, not ones against the likes of Seychelles, Tanzania et al. Messi would rather play a Nigerian side led by Ighalo than ask for a Musa led attack grin

Funny enough, we crashed out because of the over rated experience of Ighalo grin

World Cup was just 2 years ago and you've forgotten that Musa was leading the attack not Ighalo that was introduced in the second half

I guess Cameroon and Tunisia are smaller teams when compared with Benin and Lesotho cheesy

no we crashed out because we couldn't hold on to the equalizer

No, we crashed out because Ighalo had the whole time in the world to bury the chance that came through Rojo's forelimb, he chose to waste it, then wanted to take solace by rushing at the ref to point out Rojo initially handled the ball.

Former Chelsea youth-teamer Michael Olise was among the scorers for Reading as they ran out 3-1 winners against League One side Portsmouth in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Sunday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Royals manager Mark Bowen handed a run-out to Liverpool loanee Ovie Ejaria and Olise at the Madejski Stadium.

Lucas Joao and Omar Richards found the back of the net to give the home team a 2-0 lead at the interval.

Oli Hawkins reduced the deficit in the second half but Olise extinguished any hopes Pompey had of staging a comeback when he netted Reading's third goal.

In the closing stages, the 18-year-old playmaker fired into the right post to make it 3-1, assisted by Kenya international Ayub Masika.

This season, Olise has featured in fourteen first team games for Reading, with ten coming in the Championship.

He has made two appearances for France U18 team and also qualifies to represent England at international level.

What have all these players won apart from mbappe?

Experience matters in football.
Seriously dude , so what you are saying is that experience guarantee laurels? Then Ighalo should have won world cup or AFCON for us now. Lewa should win something for poland too. Ibra sef should win trophy for sweden. If sancho , Mbappe ane Haaland bossing things in their respective leagues is not impressive enough to drive home the point that experience doesn't matter in football nowadays, sorry i can't help you.

we didn't crash out because of inexperience oga, Are you saying Vicmo, musa, mikel and your Ighalo were still youngstars then? Germany, Spain are inexperienced too? Lmao... You are such a funny dude.
And your last paragraph is not an excuse. Are you saying France didn't have experienced forwards before taking Mbappe to the WC? When discussing football, we discuss both NT and club football.

“It was a big disappointment.  Even though my players played their best, they lost
to the opponents due to inexperience of my players.

”My team is a very young side compared to the Argentines, who play in the big leagues all over the world. You can talk of the experience of Lionel Messi.

”But my team is a very wonderful one; disciplined, young and very interesting to work with.

They will be ready in the next World Cup when most of them would have matured for big time football like the World Cup,”

The Coach said that but mostob and Chriskels of Nairaland think otherwise lmfao

Exactly, ighalo has retired.
