Spirited away....... 9/10

This is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen... I was wondering what made a chinese cartoon to grab the prize at the oscars and when I saw this flick I wasn't disappointed... Such a touching story

This movie was wierd in so many directions.

I got so confused seeing it. ( watched it due to the buzz)

I will try it again.

I wouldn't rate it up to 8.5...after all the hype it was a bit underwhelming for me

Extracted (2012)...6.8/10
Genre: Drama, Sci-fi

The concept of this flick had the Inception vibe written all over it, but yet, it seemed fairly original. For a low budget indie movie, i got hand it to it, I'm really impressed.

Script was cleverly written to the get the viewers engrossed & guessing till the very end. Acting was good, the cast all played their parts well. Cinematography & editing was good, infact, the movie seemed so plausible i was blinded to it's faults.

The director clearly aced this one perfectly. If you fancy slow burn suspense thrillers, do check it out.

The secret life: Jeffrey Dahmer(1993)
Genre: Biography, Crime, Drama
.

A low budget flick poorly dramatizing the life & subsequent murder spree of Jeffrey Dahmer, Americans' most notorious canibalistic serial killer who was responsible for the killings of 17 young men between the period of 1978-1991.

Production wise, the movie was simply horribly horrible. If you're looking for a gory or onscreen violence, then you'd be disappointed cause it had none.

For a more graphic tale of Dahmer atrocious acts, I'd suggest you go read about it online, the tale is absolutely chilling & more graphic than one can actually stomach & imagine.

@ oyaskii, i know you must have read about Jeffrey Dahmer. Just like you said, making moves & documentaries about serial killers is such a bad idea. I can't believe the producer of this particular movie tried to elicit a sort of sympathy form the viewers for Jeffrey Dahmer.

After seeing his biopics & reading extensively about him, i haven't been myself all day.

And i was so rankled by the fact that after refusing a defense attorney, he later had one who defended him. After the display of evidence(severed body parts, human skulls, human body organs), someone in his right frame of mind, someone with a conscience, came forth to defend him.... good Lord.

The reason that lawyers can defend people regardless of guilt is that our society gives each citizen the right to be vigorously defended in a court of law. The U.S. Constitution assures every citizen due process and the right to legal counsel.

I am telling you bro, dramatisation of deranged killers showing what led them to their killing spree is always going to elicit pity forgetting these people commit crimes that will make your stomach turn for days.

Jeffery Dahmer was a special breed of loco, his own excuse was "attention deficit" just imagine leading to borderline personality disorder. He not only killed, he also engaged in necrophilia and cannibalism, but in the eyes of the law, one must defend the accused no matter the crime...i think he was bludgeoned to death in prison by another prisoner who said "God told him to do it". smiley....Funny enough Jeffery Dahmer repented, baptised and became a born again Christian in Jail.

Good time 8.5/10

From the Safdie brothers, the same guys that made the critically acclaimed Uncut Gems. If you loved uncut gems then you'd like this one, just like uncut gems it is set in the ever-bustling city of New York and features a man so down on his luck due to a series of bad decisions that he keeps making more bad decisions and piling up to his impending doom that when shit finally hits the fan, it's no shock that he gets what's coming to him.

It features the same overwhelming music, a stellar performance from the cast, good cinematography, thrills, suspense, ph-uc ups and some stomach biting humour. Unlike uncut gems tho, this one had a positive ending that was actually moving.
