Good morning Dr. Just coming across this article now, and for the past 1hr have been reading the questions and your responses, thanks for the good job, more blessings from above.

Pls some two years ago I took ill (serious malaria/ typhoid) it suddenly affected my sight, that's I couldn't see phone texts, tiny fonts properly, when I am writing the letters start appearing double.

So I complained it to the Dr where i went for the malaria typhoid treatment, he said I using worry that when the typhoid is treated that I won't experience the eyes issues again
Truly I was a bit better after the treatment but since then my sight have not fully recovered. Still find it difficult to comprehend tiny fonts that I use to B4, and still sees tiny things double some times. This even affects recognizing people when they are afar off.

Help pls!

this is quite serious. Please go seek a second opinion. These are symptoms of retinal detachment and should be given an urgent attention. just as someone suggested earlier, u would be need a retinal surgeon if investigations confirms a retinal detachment and they have one at eye foundation. Check them out ASAP

ok sir

I just heard there is one Anya Eye Hospital in Abia and the owner seem to be a Retina specialist, or go to FMC and ask of him.

All the best.

wemmy01:

I could see them in my vision sir,
I couldn't see at night with the affected eye especially from the bottom unless I use touch light even though I could see clearly with the unaffected eye
Also from the bottom, I am having a vision with some little colour changes. like a reduced saturation i.e I won't see a white colour as a plain white colour

do you often experience headaches when u carry out tasks that are visual demanding like reading? well, i suspect you may be having a refractive error requiring glasses maybe with or without other eye problems. We can only be sure when you go for an eye examination. You ve stayed too long with the issue why dont you see an eye doc this time

Hi drsteroid, optm

Should I be worried?

Whenever I want to use other people's phone the brightness use to be too much for me even when it is okay for everyone.

Initially this was not the case.

some persons for no known reasons re very uncomfortable around lights . well there are glasses made to help people with such issues. if you havent had an eye exam, just make out time for it as one cannot really tell if the eyes are healthy until after having it examined .

I waited four days to notice if there is slight improvement in the vision but there isn't so I went to the Anya Eye Hospital today, they did a whole lot of eye test and scan, the doctor even explained the practical concept of what happened when I was hit by the ball using one eye touchable tool (best description I can give) but at the end he gave me two eye drops and also tell me to come back for scan after two week

Why does far letters get blurry to me when I'm far from it? Letters on TV gets blurry when I'm far from the TV and people faces also get burry when I'm far from them.

What could be causing this and what's the treatment. I'm 32 and press phone a lot.

Note: I have never used glasses all my life.
Thanks.

Been using glasses for some years now as a result of short sightedness. Right now I can see properly without the glasses. My question now is this "is there a permanent solution that can make me drop the glasses Thanks
