Good evening all,
Please is there anyone that landed during this covid period in any of the provinces?
If yes, kindly assist with the following info, "landing gists", POE formalities, SIN, healthcare, housing/accomodation, shopping during the mandatory 14 days quarantine and any other relevant information will be appreciated.
This question stems from the fact that covid-19 is the new normal. Things have changed. Anyone landing post covid will not have same "landing gists" as those who landed before covid-19. This information will also go a long way to prepare those that will be landing when the airspace is opened or via chartered flights.
Thanks all
first set of officers you meet would give you a form to fill in contact details and where you would isolate . Next is the one goods declaration form where they ask what and what you brought. Then to the main counter where copr is signed. For accommodation its best to inform host you are a traveler as mine cancelled due to covid fears. Later found a host who didn't mind i just traveled. For groceries there are apps for ordering stuff ( i used instacart and got free shipping as a new subscriber). Sin is now done online. Most officers did not bother to verify things said at poe maybe due to covid. But someone was asked to log in their mobile app to see pof balance.

So you were able to get an Airbnb? Are you occupying the house alone? Any pointers on what might help in securing one? Thanks!

Do these flights return empty, or Nigerian residents trying to return home can go back with them?

Hi, have you applied for your SIN? I heard the online application requests for a proof of address. Where you able to show this, since you just landed?

Hi guys,

Can a Nigerian trained Pharmacist practise Pharmacy in Canada?

Or is this certificate a shait?
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by MayorOfEdmonton: 11:36pm On Jun 18, 2020
That you are a pharmacist and asking this question is telling as you undoubtedly should have learnt pharmacy is a professional course/career....to practice legitimately in Nigeria you need a license from the Nigeria pharmacy council.

To practice anywhere else in the world you need the licence from the pharmacy council of that country too e.g Canada....you will write licensing exams and hopefully pass before you can practice professionally.
Cheers

Hello All.
I'm looking for information about living in the Durham Region of Ontario. That is Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby. Is there anyone on the forum who has experience living in these areas.

Information like where best to rent. Ease of access to Toronto (assuming I'm to work in Toronto and live in Durham).

Access to job opportunities, including various "survival" roles. I work in a regulated field and will take sometime to qualify in my profession.

I would be grateful to receive information about the advantages of starting out life in Canada in this region.

Note: the people who on this forum appear to live in these areas are not exactly active here.
Hi Jondoe, did u still move to the east? I stay in oshawa, sent u a mail.

Oh, smart. Were you mailed a confirmation of SIN letter or it was sent to your email address? If a letter was sent, how many days did it take?
I just landed and i'm yet to apply for it, considering whether i should use my airbnb address too but i'm moving in like a week's time
