Ok... so on a trip my car started over heating then I got a lot of white smoke and a rattling sound from the engine... towed it home and decided to do a fix by myself.... I’m suspecting a failed water pump and oil pump... tomorrow I’m taking apart the engine and inspecting ... well technically I’ve already started... I’d welcome everyone’s input so I don’t take it apart again after this |

Ok so I began rebuilding the engine after grinding valves and resurfacing the top cylinder base and engine block... also decided to do a wash down with fuel to degrease.... unfortunately I broke a cam shaft while assembling the engine. So I’m stuck and needing to wait on the delivery of a cam shaft on Monday... boo hoo Here are pics of the burnt gasket

Chai sorry my phone went bad... ... I’ve completed engine reassembly and I’m looking for a strong battery you start the car and see if I solved my problems... I bought cheap oil to start and run the engine and “break it in” once done I’ll drain and replace with synthetic oil

ricki:Actually it did... I found I had worn metals and it caused clearance between the con rod and crank shaft... which made me believe I had an oil pump that was failing. How ever I only realized this after first assembling the engine after a gasket change and the engine would start and stall after about a minute... Wen I considered the cost of replacing I just bought another engine and coupled to the tranny then mounted and had my electrician come couple and connect the wiring |
