Hello nairalanders, my sister in-law who works at Irrua specialist hospital said she said the pay voucher of a medical officer and It he earns seven hundred and something thousand (720,000). I was shocked and disputed it as the guy isn't a consultant and I don't think say consultant earns above six hundred thousand (600,000) specifically those who recently became consultants. I would like to know how much a consultant and medical officer earns in a teaching hospital or federal medical center. Please anyone with correct information about the salary scale of consultants in teaching hospitals and federal medical centers should kindly inform me. Thanks

Your analysis doesn't make much sense. Payment of wages is based on productivity. I agree the minimum wage doesn't make sense & may contribute to the poor productivity of the civil service. A viable health sector is an index of the level of development of any country meaning the services of doctors is very vital for the well-being of the citizens.
