Some of us are well diversified into real estate, Treasury Bill, money market funds, FG bonds, corporate bonds, stock market, joint venture projects, personal businesses, real estate etc. I don't see such Investors as been in preservation modes

Mainly for speculation by both the real estate companies and the buyers of the land

The real estate companies don't have the financial muscles to develop the land, everybody is doing the same thing. Trying to buy at N2 million and sell at N5 million in 5 years time

When the Ogun State government got tired of the problems caused by the real estate companies, they acquired all the lands back.

My advice is that when you buy from Omo onile, make sure you have the funds to develop the property and take physical possession. It is not an investment you leave for 5 years.

My late Uncle was the former Surveyor general of Lagos with just 2 houses in Lagos and plots of undeveloped landed properties all over Lagos. You know most cases Omo onile pay lawyers and surveyors by barter, ie using land for payments.

I told my uncle to sell those lands then and use the proceeds to buy or build more houses. But he was more interested in capital appreciation of the the plots and hectares of land.

Ten years after his death, his 2 sons are yet to take possession of any of his numerous plots of land.

The land have been sold by the Omo onile and his numerous business partners

You will be invited for such investments if you are found worthy. Luxury apartments in highbrow locations, you may need to invest from $500k and above.

Some years ago Stanbic IBTC sold an apartment to Investors for $1 million .

I'll appreciate if your share your experience, I bought something with them years back. I see the estate sells 400% above what I paid for it then. I have not been there in a while though.

Don't depend on a single source of income.

I will rather have 10 tenants that pays a total rent of N10 million than to have a single tenant that pays a rent of N10 million.


I will rather have have 100 customers that generates substantial revenue for the business, than having just 2 customers who generate 90% of my revenue.
