I use a Nasco TV with inbuilt decoder. I'm currently getting channels on 12518/29500 horizontal, and I get the MBC channels and some church channels.

Thing is, I don't know much about this, but I need more channels. The installer I called earlier got channels from another polarity but they were boring so I asked him to leave it where it was.

Please I need advice. I need music channels mostly, plus the movie channels.

I know someone that was using a 3m dish but it froze sometimes, not all TPs were picked

There a better and more expensive Alcad boosters,you could try televes or blusen.

There's this Alcad with one led (amber/yellow colour) and not the traditional 2 led type (green colour),get that one note they all have 1 out and 4 ins. You only need this for your control room and then use the traditional Alcad for distribution ( 1 in,2 out)

The Televes is clearly metal and heavier too (unlike the Alcad) but the blusen is similar to the Alcad.

Any booster that's >42dB or above can serve you well

I have similar experience with my Samsung smart TV, I got mostly star times stations with an indoor antenna, the stations were on before but now the signal is gone.
I only watched the channels for just two days.
Did you use a satellite dish or ordinary antenna for your TV?.

I use a dstv dish for mine. I get about 37 stations now and only about 7 are useful to me. The rest are church and hausa and nupe channels.

I want to know how to get more channels.

yes

if I scan it now, the channels are still showing but all are scrambled except ST guide.

How To Scan Any Free To Air(FTA) Channels On DSTV Explorer Receiver

First of all, remove the ‘LNB in’ cable at the back of the DSTV decoder.

Power ON the decoder and ignore the notification messages displayed on the TV screen indicating ‘No Signal’.

Press the DSTV or MENU or Blue button on the decoder’s remote controller.

While on the menu, Navigate to ‘SETTINGS’.

Choose ‘SATELLITE SETTING’.

Select ‘ADDITIONAL NETWORKS’.

Choose ‘NETWORK 1’.

Switch ‘Enable Network’ to ‘YES’.

Now you will notice that other information in the network 1 window is editable.

Scroll down to “frequency” and input the satellite TV free to air (FTA) frequency you want to Scan.

Scroll down to “symbol rate” and input the symbol rate figure.

Change the polarization to that of the satellite you want to track.

Check the signal bar for signal status

select ‘SCAN THIS’.

Please wait for the scanning to complete.

After the completion of the scanning; Dial ‘221’ on the remote control.

Press and go to the “Channel List” and you will see the free to air (FTA) channels added to the list.

Select the channel you want to watch and enjoy.

I tried it using (12284 v 27500, the signal on the dish) and it didn't scan.

you first track cnn at 32 degree with frequency 11015 v 30000 afterwards input media7 with frequency 10970 v27500 place ur lnb at right hand side abit from 32degree mbc and multi tv will surface

Thanks but this is not the issue. I'm trying to get mbc to work on my Dstv decoder (ash color), I wanted to know if it's possible. I have already tracked mbc signal on my dish.

try to increase media 7 signal to 65percent mbc will definately surface,it wont if u input manually

Oga mi, the signal is already on the dish. I'm trying to know how possible it is for the DSTV DECODER to SCAN MBC channels. I didn't ask for how to track signal.

my little trick is that I track it when its sunny, the azimuth is a little bit to your right
