I would say if you get the Meatpie dough perfect, then the baked outcome will be good looking.

Thinking of going Vegan for a while but I'm scared I may not be able to cope. I have tried some plant milk and find them word but their Sausage taste just great. I see you blend well and could pass for a Vegetarian, how do you cope?

I like almond milk but I have never tried vegan sausages. I will buy some next week because of you. smiley
I know I can't go vegan so I have not even thought of trying but I can imagine it is an interesting experience. From what I know about vegans is that they know a lot about food and how to replace the nutrients we get from animal products so I would recommend you prepare yourself properly before you even start. You will also need your family and friends stop support you by respecting your choice. I would be really curious to learn what the journey is like for you if you decide to actually do it.

I am a part-time vegetarian if something like this even exists. I don't eat meat every day and I pay attention to where my meat is coming from, even my eggs. I don't want to eat meat full of antibiotics and I want the animals to live in a near-natural environment before they die. I can't bear the thought of animal cruelty.

Meatpie Dough
6 cups of APF
4 sticks Butter
2 Teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon ground Allspice (optional)
1/2 cup of water

Tips: if you have Cake stand mixer with dough hook. Then combine all dry ingredients and mix, add water. Mix the dough until it's smooth and a bit stretchy. Otherwise use hand to mix the dough.

Cut and roll on a floured surface/ board before adding the mince filling

My weakness
...and to think that those are the real deal tongue

I pray for the day Nigeria will start producing her own dairy products ( fresh milk, butter, cheese...) We won't have to settle for alternatives.
If only the northerners had needs for those products...

If I lived in Nigeria I would be less concerned about intensive live stock farming. I buy local products here and if not possible then I buy organic and fair trade products. It is more expensive but makes you consume less of what should not be consumed in great amounts anyway.

Who else enjoys palm oil stew?

Made one this morning with pork meat. No tomato paste. Rice and beans will go with it.

I went local this morning, I blended the tomatoes and pepper with grinding stone, don't look at me that way, yes I have grinding stone and I looove it cheesy cheesy.
