Hi guys,

Recently came across an advert for PhD studentships in Ireland. Although the deadline is close (5pm, 26/06/20), the application process is about the simplest and most straightforward I've seen for a PhD Studentship, in fact it can be done in a day. All it requires are 3 things; Ranking your choice of studentship from 6 options, a CV which must show stuff like your degree & award, research experience, publications etc and A statement of motivation of 500 words max...very easy!

Find the call below and click on the link for more details.

ERBE PhD Studentships – September 2020
Energy Resilience in the Built Environment Centre for Doctoral Training (ERBE CDT)
The ‘Energy Resilience in the Built Environment’ (ERBE) CDT represents an exciting partnership between MaREI (Ireland), University College London (UK), and Loughborough University (UK) that is funded through the SFI-EPSRC ‘Centres for Doctoral Training’ (CDT) Programme. The CDT will provide students with a deep understanding of buildings, low and zero carbon technologies and the socio-technical context.

The CDT promotes excellence in research through the training of cohorts of doctoral students and the fostering of collaboration between UK and ROI based researchers. ERBE will train innovative leaders with the necessary skills to transform the relationships between buildings and the energy system, providing sustainable, affordable, and healthy places to live and work.

The post-pandemic world will see a new reality for the built environment; both residential & commercial. One of the themes & project areas of the ERBE CDT is Comfort, Health & Wellbeing; which allows for a research focus on building, energy, and ICT systems that create productive and efficient work and operational environments and affordable, clean, safe homes.

This supplemental call focuses solely on the link between this theme and the impact the current pandemic will have on the ability to create these safe, affordable, healthy & operational homes and work & operational environments.

We are currently seeking student applications to join our 2020 cohort of ERBE students.

I think it’s because there are still local restrictions, like they haven’t opened borders and domestic flights haven’t resumed too. Just saying..... dunno sha

I really do not know how to start!

Plz house, I just received my MSc offer letter from LYIT for sept.
The issue is, right now there's no reasonable amount of cash inside my bank account since I've almost given up, though the money is available elsewhere. Hence if I'm to continue, this may result to lump sums considering the short period.
Can I use a sponsor account whose name is entirely different from mine?

Quite unfortunate. They are actually not formally open yet. Will keep you updated if we get word from the Embassy soon.

Probably because there is still a ban on Interstate travelling and Domestic flights are yet to start operations.

Yes some schools accept it , few others insist on academic while other universities waive it if you have at least credit in English. Either way it's a compulsory requirement for Visa application.

Cheers
