Have you forgotten that cedi was redenominated about 13 years ago, whereby four zeros were removed.

Soludo wanted to try it will Naira by removing three zeros, but it was resisted

If you have the $250k and asked to invest in either Nigeria or Ghana, where will you choose?

I'll choose ivory coast over ghana and Nigeria

But since its between Ghana and Nigeria

It's going to be Ghana.

There is a coded pet project I run (or will I say fund cos I'm hardly there lmao) in ghana
Not too big

I have been impressed with the outcome so far.

Being Nigerian
I have to invest a sizable chunk of my investment in Nigeria

But I'll rather invest in Ghana cool

Your risk tolerance and knowledge about the investment should determine what you invest in.

They have a thread for such Investments, just listen to the analysis of people who invest in such.

With that amount I will venture into production. And for sake of electricity, I'll choose Ghana. Though Nigeria has a bigger market, I can still ship to Nigeria market. Just as we buy from China and other countries.

Hope you know that exportation is almost hassle free in Ghana cheesy cheesy

Na so una de hype Ghana over the years that many of us began to think Nigeria was so so useless, only for PMB to close the border and the whole of West, East and part of Northern African began to feel the heat.

I watch some Ghanian stations sometimes, you need to see how they sometime blast their leaders and telling them to take a cue from Nigeria and here we are pretending they are better than us.

Many of their economic indexes are Audio.

Because Ghana artificially removes zeroes from their exchange rate, dem begin hype Ghana all over the place as if Nigeria cannot also remove zeroes from the exchange to make it $1 to 30kobo.

Venture Capital is becoming a big thing in Ghana too

If you are lucky to strike the cord correctly twice

You will be made.

Quite shameful that we are not so big on venture capital in Nigeria

There are opportunities in Nigeria

There are opportunities in Ghana too

But Ghana is where I'll rather invest more if I had the luxury of choice

That is not the point

Many Nigerians dont seem to get it

It has nothing to do with currency

And every thing to do with LEADERSHIP ans POLICY.

Japan has one of the WEAKEST currencies on the planet

Its weaker than NGN ZAR and GHS

However, the Japanese GDP is bigger than the whole of africa put together

And USA is owing Japan to the Tune of $1.1 trillion and counting

So its not about currency or adding or removing zeroes.

Nigerians we think we are all that grin grin

Which joke?
One of the ones I remember off my hat was when I heard a speaker say something like, "when Ghana hopes to get a big brand like Glo, fully national company playing across the sub terrain"

Nigeria is not edorado but it is definitely not a write off

Sir, Japan does not have one of the weakest currency on the planet sir. It is around yen120 to 1USD, definitely not close to been one of the worse in the world.

If you want to compare Nigeria with any African country please use South African, Rwanda or Moroco and perhaps Kenya and some other silent countries in Southern Africa.

Oga Ema mentioned in either this thread or NSEMPA thread that Uniliver moved their production facility from Nigeria to Ghana only for it to coincide with the border closure and they could not sell their products to the extent that the Ghanian CEO was queried, here you are hyping Ghana like say na Dubai.

I swear, I also bought into the hype. Now that I think of it rationally, it is like someone visits Abuja in Nigeria and goes back to Gabon and start telling them Nigeria is like heaven. Accra and Kumassi are the major cities there.

Japan has one of the weakest currencies on earth

South Korea own is even weaker

Its weak

But somewhat stable.

I read the comment from NSE thread

The border closure was unfortunate
But then

That does not take anything still away from Ghana

The production plant was sited there to service the Nigerian market
And that was the mistake

I'm sure the industrial space at TV Africa thaf focuses on the Ghanaian market is not as badly hit as this CEO.

As for the bolded

Hahahahahahaha

That's all I'll do

The best thing to do

If you are Nigeria centric

What should worry you is more of inflation

Than the FOREX rate

The fact that people keep forgetting this and think Ghanian currency is stronger than ours is funny.

After Rand, Naira is the next best thing in Africa.

And Naira being the next big thing after rand

I'm not too sure about that tho.

Fundamentals of a country

Some people arguing nonsense that Ghanian currency is stronger than ours. I laugh.
