I doubt he was running from immigration officers. Probably had illegal drugs with him and knowing that he’ll face the death penalty if caught decided to risk it. About 98% of Nigerians in Indonesia are into drugs peddling and other petit crimes to survive as there are no jobs and other genuine means of livelihood there. No one will take such risk if it was just immigration issues that’ll only see him deported.
