For the newbies on the thread, I know it can be frustrating when it seems like you are been asked mundane and repetitive questions in your quest for answers. In such situations, take a deep breath, relax, and have the following at the back of your mind:
- The person trying to help you cannot see what you are seeing, there is such a thing as "lost in translation"
- Humility is key, when you ask for help you are only "stupid" for the period you are seeking for assistance
- Don't be hasty to respond, digest what has been typed. Many a needless war has been started on this thread because the parties involved were communicating at different frequencies. Some gurus here are a bit sarcastic, while others are plain. Understand properly before thinking you are being attacked.
- Anyone who takes time out to attend to your questions and queries deserves your respect. They are not being paid to do so. Anytime you feel like hulking out, turning green, and smashing stuff - remember this sober fact.
- Finally, there are some satanically demonic entities on this thread whose sole purpose is to cause chaos, disaffection, and generally increase the amount of entropy on this thread - avoid them at all costs.
Thank you.

Swipe from up to down, click on data usage, then data usage statistics, it gives you a brief of app that went online on your phone for that data, and the data volume consumed.
WhatsApp status and Instagram are usually the biggest culprits for data usage for most people

Ok... This is for last month and this month. Yesterday and today none

Seriously this Redmi note 8 fall my hand, I wasn't expecting the screen should have issues on the first fall just on a height less than 20 inches.. so unfortunate.. Even when I was using transions company phones, my phone fell multiple times It was just d touch and screen guide that broke... So dissapointing.. I am shattered and pained

Everything ads that keeps popping up randomly.

Miui ads are only available in some system apps. There is a link on how to disable miui ads on the first page. If what you are getting is random ads all over the place even on installed apps, check the last app you downloaded or you probably must have visited some sites with Malware.

Exactly! The day my RN8 took a fall, I was left breathless... I took my thing and found out nothing happened to it. How the phone lands is really important as there are obvious delicate/weak landing points in phones that can scatter things with minimal fall heights..

You're the one using your data and not RN8 doing anything. Clearly, you can see the apps you use topping the list of data consumption. The thing is, most apps these days consume a lot of data unlike the days when you can use 10Mb for a whole lot of stuffs. Picture and video quality has improved and it takes a lot of data to consume such quality.

To disable sync, swipe down on the status bar and look for sync and disable it from there or search sync in settings page.

I have used Exxynos powered phones and the experience was fluid. Hitherto before exposure to the different types of SOCs. One couldn't tell the difference between SD, Exxynos and MTK. My point is Exxynos isnt bad as its portrayed to be. It only isnt as powerful as its SD counterpart.
There is, although not much but in battery and optimization u will see the differences

Thank you for this. The manual approach on the page was more helpful. Xiaomi looks to have worked around to block those other procedures. Most of the instructions on the page were different from what I have on my phone RN8 pro.
