who told you. Is just that welding technology now need robotics.

I insist it's a waste of energy doing welding technology as BSC. One can get a hands on professional Certificate in deep sea welding and other advanced welding by doing 3 or 6months courses and do excellently well.

No course is useless

If there was, it will be education related courses. Why?

Because a course is more than what you read. There's an entire ecosystem around it.

Teachers tend to be poor sorry to say. That needn't be the xase but if your peers aren't doing well, they can influence you.

Lawyers for instance do well and so do accountants. Most of their peers are doing well.

Why I said no course is useless is you are the determinant of your future to a good extent.

You have zoologist working in banks. Engineers as well. It's not necessary you practice what you read.

Most importantly, you can work for yourself. This pandemic has been an eye opener. Millions of people are working from home!

If you're a teacher, you can start blogging or writing for medium.com if your english is good. As a blogger, you can easily make 1milliin a month in a year's time in passive income.

Many medium.com writers make 4-5 figures a month writing after a year of sweat equity. The income from then tends to be passive as you'll be earning lots of income from your past efforts.

You see many here on NL making money from online freelancing. Others from domaining, affiliate marketing and dropshipping.

You can also delve into other businesses as well such as estate agency, farming, buying of produce from the north and selling it in Lagos etc.

The sky is not your limit

Oau, if you study the course abroad you'll make it big but in Nigeria without connections forget. The lecturers in the department were very mean once they don't like they'll spoil your GP. So what's the essence of graduating from such department. When I was in part 2 then a guy had A but now, the guy is nowhere to be found are A.
wawu that's serious o grin... I wanted to do the course before I changed my mind but it might not be like this in other schools tho

I studied Biochemistry and I'm gainfully employed. Almost everybody in the same line of career in my company studied Biochemistry and we earn more than doctors.
Out of Thousands of Biochemistry Graduates out there....

Do you know why Medicine/Health Courses are still good? It's because they have Low Unemployment Rate.

I cut across almost 5 different specializations entirely which include maths, logic, reasoning, science and art. Why don't people get it? It doesn't matter what you study for your first degree. Just get any degree and move on. Life is filled with mysteries and puzzles. Just be a problem solver. That is all. Gush!

For example, if I had to choose between medicine and microbiology, I would choose the later. Doctors spend too much time learning robotic commands while biologists move straight into the lab and come out with innovations. There are more award winners and recognized biologists than doctors. Not saying medicine is not good but just my opinion. While doctor follow robotics instructions on treating the same ailments, biologists find solutions to recent ailments. So, doctors rely on biologists to come out with what they are going to adopt. Yet, Nigerian parents think medicine is more honorable than microbiology. But of course, surgeons and specialists are innovators toom But damn! It is a long journey. You gat the passion, go for it.

Check this out: BSc Microbiology, MSc Genetics, and PhD in deep genetic relating research...like finding more solutions to aging. Oh science is saying old age will be regarded as a disease by the year 2050. Lol
Pls with the MSc where will you work in this country considering your choice of discipline lipsrsealed undecided

Political Science.
Not even if your dad is a politician and you also dream of being one.
Na money and godfathers dey determine how far you will go in naija politricks.

Studying law makes you a legal practitioner.

Studying medicine makes you a medical practitioner.

But studying political science doesn't make you a politician whereas a political scientist, political administrator, political analyst,

The only Nigerian politician to study political science was Fmr. Gov. Liyel Imoke

Even the most talk about personality in the study of politics Karl Marx was never a politician.

Even the American Political Science Association (APSA) is not into anything political.

It seems alot of persons get this twisted.

I stand to be corrected though....

Is there a kind of girls you would advise a guy not to marry??

When those girls don't marry, who would take care of them when they get older??

All courses are good. Nairaland wouldn't be responsible for the scarcity of students in a departement /faculty.
You are a wise man... Nice one from you

You're very lucky you didn't study the course , the lecturers here will frustrate you out of the department. Or you sleep with the lecturers and they'll pass you across to other lecturers.

Parents still allow their children to study Medicine/Health Courses because there is at least an Assurance of starting up quickly.
