I can understand Cappo. I know the reason my pain keeps looking like it's the same is cos I'm the one bathing and doing everything for baby when we ought to be resting for quick recovery. My breast is also not flowing like it did during my son's birth.

Sorry if it looks like I'm hijacking your comment and including myself, but sometimes I feel like crying due to the pain and no rest I'm getting. Wish my mum in law was here too. But my husband and elder sister has been more than helpful in other aspects.
Please stay strong. This too shall pass and we shall count it all joy.

Sorry dear for the stress you are passing through. Anytime baby is sleeping try as much as possible to sleep. You can bath baby in the afternoon once daily. The weather is cold now while changing him just use towel and clean his body and change cloth for him. Baby will be fine. Concentrate on getting your self back for now. Thank God hubby and elder sis helps in other regards.

Quick recovery to you dear.

Humm, it will be an uncomfortable examination, and sometimes even a little painful.
Lemme use a layman language to break it down.
When you lay on the bed, part your legs, the doc or nurse will wear a sterile latex glove, clean your hp with dele cotton wool dipped in savlon. Finally they'll put their hand inside your hp to check how many cm dilated you're.

But why the examination? Loosing mucus plug, blood or contraction? Did you ask for induction?

None of the above. I was told to get ready for scan and VE. Is there any way I can decline the VE? Coz already, I'm scared and irritated.

Yes you can decline until you loose your plug or see any sign of labor. Only if you want to be induced or a membrane sweep. Don't be scared or irritated, is just a price we pay for our tiny God's creature.
It'll end in praise

Maybe they want to sweep her membrane tho. But I believe they'll answer her if she ask them the reason for the VE.

I was shaming for myself when labor came, was asking for a VE, even begging. Lol

I think she meant pelvic examination. It's done on all first timers to determine if your baby can pass through your pelvic muscles

Mamas please I need your advice and input concerning my son.

Am worried that he cannot make a complete sentence at 2years 6month.
He can only say Daddy, mummy, call people by their names. And mention names of food like golden morn, biscuit , rice, egg etc.

But he cannot say anything three words like mummy give me. Or I want to pee.

Am so so worried.

Also do girls talk earlier than boys?

I felt really bad within when some mamas here were talking about how their 2years plus can count one to thirty.

He can only count 1 - 10 even that no so smoothly.
He is supposed to begin school in September.

But when you ask him to do anything he understands and goes to do it. But he doesn't really talk. He can operate my phone very well, go to YouTube himself and play cocomelon videos.

But why doesn't he talk. We cant even have a discussion

Is he your first child? If yes, he probably is not seeing anyone to talk at his own pace. Leave him so long as he's making progress. When he starts school and interacts with his peers, he'll talk better.

My son can't talk well too only daddy and take, but understands everything and instructions, feeds himself, remove his clothes during bathe time, he'll talk when he's ready. Can't count 1-10 but identifies his clothes, shoes, everybody. His sister is a talkative

Don't feel bad, every child is special on their own.

Hahhaaah... Mama don't give yourself headache... At that age my son couldn't say any word but mumbles.......he is three plus now and within the last 3 months he has really improved. Even at this age he can only say two later words. He can't write pass 1, lol..... But can count and identify 1-100, colors, shapes, ABC, and lots more, But can't talk clearly (limited by words) and can't write. I don't compare him with others because I know he will come around and kids grow up differently. He however loves me reading to him

You mentioned that he is yet to begin schooling, that might be a major factor as we parent are not known to engage kids in long conversations unlike how their peers do.
Secondly, most people are of the opinion that female kids are faster in their development stages than male kid.
Also, some kids are naturally slow in achieving some milestones.

To be on a safe side, you can visit a specialist to examine him.

Cheers.

Some Hospitals do it for first time moms. Some even repeat at 39weeks. Yes, it’ll be uncomfortable but not sth you can’t handle. Plus it can also help you fall into labour naturally. So I wouldn’t decline if I were in your shoes.

Please I have a question for all sabi mamas and doctors in the house, during the birth of my first baby was given tear and sewed while my second baby pushed through the tear during childbirth and it wasn’t sewed, so it was left like that all this happened in a maternity home.
Now my third preg and properly the last I want to register in fmc or general hospital though it’s a bit far but I need the vj to be sewed very well even though it’s painful as hell.
Now my question is do they numb the pain when sewing and is it possible to sew even when there’s no fresh tear. Pls sabi mamas pls don’t read and pass I need this information want to start antenatal by Monday.

Hello Mama. The procedure is called clinical pelvimetry. It accesses the adequacy of the pelvic outlet. The clinician aims to achieve an insight on what you should expect and profers advice accordingly together with your clinical history on possible modes of delivery. Some pelvises are normal gynecoid shaped...others may not be...however baby might still be able to pass especially if foetal weight is not above normal or on the high side of normal usually seen in cases of borderline pelvis. Some Mamas however have contracted pelvises, hence, pushing a baby is a no no...
It can be quite discomforting usually though procedure lasts less than 3minutes and you might spot a little afterwards but it is good to have an idea and help your clinician to manage you better.
In recent times though, it may or may not be carried out...it all depends on the discretion of the managing clinician.
The disclaimer here is that pelvis being certified adequate does not rule out any other complications (God forbid though) that may arise immediate pre- or peri- labour that may lead to major decisions being taken on route of delivery.
The choice is yours though...
Cheers!

Hello Mama...kindly note that no pelvic examination is done during the first trimester. None at all! Meanwhile, how can the pelvis of a mother whose developing embryo/foetus have not even gone close to achieving expected fetal birth weight be checked? To what end and for what exactly?
Even clinical pelvimetry done at 36wks or slightly later than that depending on the doctor is no longer routine practice.
Let us be guided

No pelvic examination is done around 37/38 weeks. Effacement and dilation is checked when u have gone into labour already to check how many cm u are.
