Please take your child to a dermatologist in a federal medical centre or a teaching hospital..

Nairaland can't advice you on the safest way..

Your child is too tender to be experimenting treatment from an online medium..It is very risky!

Use baby tribotan. Apply on the affected area mildly. It will clear off with time. I hope you did the scrub bath for the baby with the use of palm oil and local sponge?

It will clear off with time.

Visit the hospital...a teaching hospital. Meanwhile, get sudocream and apply it first. It should work. It's highly effective against the eela

Congratulations on your baby! Please look for Red Acalypha leaf (you can google the picture-it's very common). boil this leaf and bathe your baby with it 2ce daily. Also, Natural Nigerian has a great baby range which works(from experience) also made with Red Acalypha and others.
Do not be tempted to use steroids- they are terrible.

All the best.

Hello house, my boy is barely one month old and he developed this skin issue. One of my colleagues said it is Ela(Yoruba) but from my experience, ela use to manifest as very red tiny rashes around the neck and joints.

Now this one is not on his neck (though it is in both his elbow joints, scarcely on his Tommy and this morning I say it at the back of his knee), his skin molts around the rashes. I just can't completely describe it that's why I included the pics.

I need help elders in the house. I took him back to the hospital where he was born but they said it will go but I don't like the look.

Mods pls help me push to fp.

Your baby is shedding dead skin.
Bathe him with hibiscus juice popularly known as zobo. Just boil only the flower.no additives then strain the juice and use it to bathe him.

It will clear all that dead skin.

Your child is still a baby. Please don't apply anycream without doctor's prescription. Some could be steroid or totally unsuitable for a child that young. Please go to a teaching hospital..

Don't take him to any Lasuth joor grin. It's what Yoruba people call "Alefo". You can try sudocrem or better still, combine it with bathing him him with boiled extracts of red and califer flower (not sure if that's what they call it). Works like a charm. Trust me, I am experienced.

There are some medicated soaps for babies which he can choose from.
Re: Help, My Newborn Has This Skin Problem by carbon1224(m): 9:23pm On Jun 28, 2020
I think the type of cream and soap you are using on the babies body could be reacting to this.take my advise go and get original ori for creaming the babies body and make sure you get it from where they sell local herbs market not refined one and get a soap call oshedudu aro in Yoruba and get dry leave that falls down from the tree of local fruit and cook with water, once you bath your kid with the cooked Agbo of ewe fruit every time for a while you changes would come .its Eilat in Yoruba no doubt but it’s the reaction of the chemical from the soap on the baby.

Go get red soap. It removes skin diseases from babies too. For beautiful skin, rub your child original ori or palm kernel oil. Good luck.

Please post your question with the picture on Ask the Peadiatrician Group on Facebook. It looks like bacteria infection caused by those who carries your baby and usually requires antibiotics and bathing baby with mild disinfectant like savlon. Impove your hygiene level
