This is what we call ‘Àléfó in Yoruba land. I just showed the pic to my mom and she said it’s what I just called it. She said it’s just a sign that your baby will be chubby. Just visit local shops that sell dustin powders, there’s what we call ‘moju’, it’s in powdery form; just apply it on the affected areas. Or buy Cacatin cream and rub on your baby’s body, there’s no cause for alarm Daddy baby. |

This is called baby acne. It is very normal due to hormones balancing from exposure to mum's hormones in the belly. The solution is USE NOTHING! Just water and baby soap to bath the baby. It will go by itself once the baby's hormones balance. Don't make the mistake of using oils and Shea butter. It will make it only worse. The best you can use it you can afford it is Aveeno oatmeal bath. It will soothe the baby's skin |

mandalorian: Don't buy all those things. My baby had the same problem. Doctor prescribed ampiclox 2.5ml 4 times daily like 8am, 2pm, 8pm, 2am for 5 days. Buy GSk brand of powder ampiclox. Instructions for mixing with bottled water is on the label. It worked like magic |

Pls take this baby to a pediatric doctor. The baby needs to be examined for atopic dermatitis/excema maybe some allergies. Also do not try any home remedy on the fragile and exposed skin until you get expert counseling. Good luck 1 Like |

merahki:It's not a serious dermal infection as seen which sudocream could take care of whilst she prepares for a visit. I'm not a dermatologist or paediatrician but great success has been achieved using the cream on newborns with such cases. I wouldn't mind directing her to some of my colleagues in LUTH if she could visit this week to reduce waiting time. |

It happened to my first Son 2015 when he was barely 3 month, the amount of medication and injection the boy received was much that our family doctor said we should stop medication especially antibiotics for a while. Everytime we are in the hospital because of this. I tried most of these expensive foreign soaps and medicated powder to no avail. I do on generator 247 because the boy sweat much. Meanwhile, my wife open up to an elderly woman in the saloon who advice her to be using Baby Testmosol and Mojo Powder(Rising or Nursing Nurse) which worked like magic. The funny thing is that just common N350 (The Soap was N100 and N250 then) solved this wahala when my boy don suffer and I don spent money much. Moreso, If you notice your baby sweat much, don't cover the baby much unless there's cold. Don't use baby lotion on your baby, some of these lotion are harsh on baby's skin and the funny thing is that most of foreign products here in Nigeria are totally fake especially the expensive ones. NB, it can spread fast, even in the head 1 Like 1 Share |
