You looking for a male nanny? No wonderembarassed

I don't understand why some people feel so insecure? Always quick to ignorantly name-tag when you need to work on your imperfections.
Your earlier post was racist and so uncalled for.

Please take your baby to the hospital to see a paediatrician. If I may, I recommend you take him to lifeline children hospital at surulere, that's if you're in Lagos.

Hello house, my boy is barely one month old and he developed this skin issue. One of my colleagues said it is Ela(Yoruba) but from my experience, ela use to manifest as very red tiny rashes around the neck and joints.

Now this one is not on his neck (though it is in both his elbow joints, scarcely on his Tommy and this morning I say it at the back of his knee), his skin molts around the rashes. I just can't completely describe it that's why I included the pics.

I need help elders in the house. I took him back to the hospital where he was born but they said it will go but I don't like the look.

Mods pls help me push to fp.

Sorry about that, kindly get a Funbact A with original local Shea Butter, (don't buy the perfumed type) mix them in a small rubber and rub on him. Hopefully after 2 or 3 days, changes will come. Sudocreme is good but learnt it's for pampers rashes mostly. I wish your son a quick healing.

Stop using any kind of baby powder on your child. This could be caused by powder. Even in hospitals now, mothers are advised not to be applying powders on their babies.

Had same issue as kid up to when I was teenager, ur kid have a very sensitive skin. Here’s how to manage it, for now stop using all forms of bathing products or cream, buy dozens of napkins, so u don’t use same towel over and over again, if you use one today wash it with ordinary water and spread in the sun, use another towel the next day till the 24 has been used before repeating. If where the baby is sleeping is hot, make provision for more ventilation so the baby doesn’t sweat. Change the bedsheets everyday and avoid random people from carrying the baby and lastly make sure ur baby is bathing with clean water. Cheers

Wanted to bath him this morning and it seems to be spreading to his stomach

Take him to the people that sell "Agbo" (Native concoction or what can l call it in English sef.).
I have seen too many of this in the past. Which State are you located to see if l can direct you?

They will prepare roots and leaves that he will use to bath and drink a small part of it.
Within a few days, you wont recognise your child's skin again and it will probably cost you like 2-3K (All these Mama Alagbo don open eye sef, dem nor dey call #200 again).

Just see as people are recommending Creams, Soaps, Anti Bacterials, etc! shocked This small skin infection that is actually from the inside of the baby na im una wan buy the hwole of LASUTH and LUTH combined for? shocked

All these new Mothers, na so fear go dey catch una, l don born six forget sef say dem dey born. grin
Dont worry too much, your baby will be fine at the end of the day.

Leave a message or even a number, l can call you.
if it makes sense to you, l will check this thread later.

For babies, only get treatment from a specialist (doctor). People may have replied out of goodwill but it's not the right thing to do.
In your baby's best interest, kindly put aside every prescription you have gotten here. Don't make the mistake of putting savlon in his water, or using antiseptic soap on him.
Please see a doctor.

Go to a good paediatrician, let them run a test and tell u exactly what to do. Avoid following self medication or suggestions from unqualified people here.

Good morning madam, I wish you big congratulations for the new born baby. What appear on your baby skin is nothing to be fear about as it appears in some baby and it called (EFOPO in Yoruba). The reason why it is spreading is because "once the ripe boil burst, wherever the water touches , another one will develop there" I remembered this type of rashes also appear on my first born skin and all we do is to get the flower leaf as some ppl have rightly said. You will boil the leaf and use it to bath for the baby in the morning and night. You can get the leaf around especially around estates, ppl plant it as flower. I would have be of help coz the leafs are within my reach here but dunno how far you are to me. As you have said and you v taken the bay to where he was born n they told you it will go, YES that is it, it will go by itself, don't complicate issue for the baby skin by following some modern days drugs some are prescribing here on Nairaland as the baby skin is still flexible and soft. If you need any more advice on this... You can chat me up on WhatsApp.

Would that be the leaf of this multi-coloured flower that they use in decorating a garden, with curly leaves like this?
It has to be it, I have boiled same for my son a very long time ago, when he had similar problem. Guy is an adult now.
You are damn right.
See correct Mama , @Op, come and see wetin l dey talk o!
This treatment, if you can go out an dget the leaves yourself, will not even cost you a penny. Teh flower grows in any nice (better people) compound. grin
But you can also buy it from 'Alagbo' Women.
Dont use all these Prescription people are telling you here, it can worsen your case o. The problem is internal and that leave will wash it out in no time.

Edit: That is the leaf! Kudos to you. Can you get a better picture that is more representative of the plant, anyoen who has not seen the flower before may not recognise it from that picture. Thanks.

Please stop using all those Johnson, Peers baby soap or oil on him, go buy SebaMed baby soap and cream and your worries are over. I'm telling you this from experience. Stop giving him drugs, you'll only complicate things.

Please go visit a dermatologist or pediatrician before using any drugs or cream. We need to learn to do the right thing. Stop taking advice on drugs or cream to use here. We have specialists who are well grounded on how to tackle such baby skin inffections.

There’s nothing to be scared of, it also happened to my newborn last month but it’s all gone. I used betnovante-n cream on her body. It was gone in less than a week.

Your baby is shading his skin at the same time have Ela or Obo as the Igbos call it...

You can only get rid of it using agbo/herbs ( Yoruba people) have the best treatment for it.. Both the one he would take orally to kill off the bacterias from the inside and then the one you would cook to bath him with, if possible request for also the cream...

I doubt if the modern drugs work for it because it never worked on my 4 kids when they had it...

Don't Fret, it's nothing to worry about

You're right... Modern drugs doesn't really cure this thing... My niece had a terrible one when she was like two months old... We bought sudocrem, bought zinnat... People were recommending all sorts of creams... It never worked until her dad brought one herb like that... It cured it totally... Herbs work better

Combine shea butter (Ori in Yoruba), coconut oil (adi agban), and palm kernel oil (adi dudu in Yoruba) together. Then always rub the combination on him after a bath with normal mild bathing soap.

Optional: you can get a powder, 'Rising powder'. It is a refined monju powder.
Also, you may put some Lipton tea inside her bathing water. You need only the extract to be added to his bathing water.

I bet you will thank me later. In fact, you will see change within a week.

Try Shea butter and coconut oil.
Don't apply antiseptic or fungal creams as suggested. He is still tender. It might be internal. The skin peel is normal for newborns though.[/quote]

You are the cause of the problem dear, discontinue the oil you are using on her hair and it will be a history. I had the same issue with my first son, we passed through a lot of test and medications to get rid of it but to no avial until someone saw it and told my wife to stop using hair oil for the baby and everything became history.
