Looks like staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome. See a paediatrician ASAP

my dear, nothing to fear.. it happens to some babies that didn't pills off skin while in the stomach. just mix kernel and red, yellow capsule together. rub it on the baby. it will clear... from experience.

God will healed him.

This is what I hate Nigerians for, everything God. So all you can type is this without proper solutions or anything to do before God can add his own healings? Even our grand parents use to use boiled rice water to bath such skin disease in children and today their are many antiseptic skin to use and you can't mention one. Please if the ops is reading this take your child to hospital or get a good knowledge granny to help you out Locally.

There’s nothing to be scared of, it also happened to my newborn last month but it’s all gone. I used betnovante-n cream on her body. It was gone in less than a week.
Thanks for your response, however it was stated http://mcs.open.ac.uk/nlg/old_projects/pills/corpus/base/data/Glaxo/BetnovateN_Cream/BetnovateN_Cream.html that it should not be applied on babies that are less than a year old.

Congratulations brother,
The skin problem you see in your baby's skin is not new. Its normally comes from small micro organism which has infected the baby clothes. What you need to do enhance fort is to wash all the baby clothes separately dont mix them with others clothes, dry them afterward take time iron all the baby clothes. Whenever you want to change his or her clothe make sure is the ironed ones. Stop giving the baby antibiotics wont cure it. Coconut oil isn't the solution. Its happened to me until I discovered this my baby never sees it or experience it again.
Remain blessed.

Good morning madam, I wish you big congratulations for the new born baby. What appear on your baby skin is nothing to be fear about as it appears in some baby and it called (EFOPO in Yoruba). The reason why it is spreading is because "once the ripe boil burst, wherever the water touches , another one will develop there" I remembered this type of rashes also appear on my first born skin and all we do is to get the flower leaf as some ppl have rightly said. You will boil the leaf and use it to bath for the baby in the morning and night. You can get the leaf around especially around estates, ppl plant it as flower. I would have be of help coz the leafs are within my reach here but dunno how far you are to me. As you have said and you v taken the bay to where he was born n they told you it will go, YES that is it, it will go by itself, don't complicate issue for the baby skin by following some modern days drugs some are prescribing here on Nairaland as the baby skin is still flexible and soft. If you need any more advice on this... You can chat me up on WhatsApp.

Thank you so much for your response (I'm not madam though), I have taken the baby to Alagbo here in Sangotedo Market and they gave us local drugs to bath him with and also give him some to drink while bathing him. They also gave us some cream to rub him. It's been two days now and the condition seems to be improving.

Take him to the people that sell "Agbo" (Native concoction or what can l call it in English sef.).
I have seen too many of this in the past. Which State are you located to see if l can direct you?

They will prepare roots and leaves that he will use to bath and drink a small part of it.
Within a few days, you wont recognise your child's skin again and it will probably cost you like 2-3K (All these Mama Alagbo don open eye sef, dem nor dey call #200 again).

Just see as people are recommending Creams, Soaps, Anti Bacterials, etc! shocked This small skin infection that is actually from the inside of the baby na im una wan buy the hwole of LASUTH and LUTH combined for? shocked

All these new Mothers, na so fear go dey catch una, l don born six forget sef say dem dey born. grin
Dont worry too much, your baby will be fine at the end of the day.

Leave a message or even a number, l can call you.
if it makes sense to you, l will check this thread later.
thanks, that was exactly what I did cause that was what my parents also recommended and some good people of NL. He is taking the medication from the alagbo woman and it's been two days now. I will revert on his condition in 48hrs from now.

Once again, I appreciate your concern.

Had same issue as kid up to when I was teenager, ur kid have a very sensitive skin. Here’s how to manage it, for now stop using all forms of bathing products or cream, buy dozens of napkins, so u don’t use same towel over and over again, if you use one today wash it with ordinary water and spread in the sun, use another towel the next day till the 24 has been used before repeating. If where the baby is sleeping is hot, make provision for more ventilation so the baby doesn’t sweat. Change the bedsheets everyday and avoid random people from carrying the baby and lastly make sure ur baby is bathing with clean water. Cheers
Thank you so much, I'll improve on the points you noted.

Gracias! I saw this late, but I will keep it as my plan B if it is not showing signs on improvement in the next 48hrs. I pray the local medicine we're giving him works.

Good advice. And if the baby is on formula, change the formula and see.
And for God sake, do NOT apply anything as creams, antibiotics, etc., it could make it permanent. Consult the doctor.
Be very careful, your baby is only 1 month old.

My baby girl had this about 2 months ago. And I visited the hospital. Everything I was given (cream, soap, powder) never worked until visited mama alagbo.
Visit these Yoruba women selling herbs. You'll be given cream, soap and herbs which you'll cook, give to him to drink so it will kill the infection from inside and also bath him with the liquid. In 2days you'll surely see difference.

Hello house, my boy is barely one month old and he developed this skin issue. One of my colleagues said it is Ela(Yoruba) but from my experience, ela use to manifest as very red tiny rashes around the neck and joints.

Now this one is not on his neck (though it is in both his elbow joints, scarcely on his Tommy and this morning I say it at the back of his knee), his skin molts around the rashes. I just can't completely describe it that's why I included the pics.

I need help elders in the house. I took him back to the hospital where he was born but they said it will go but I don't like the look.

Mods pls help me push to fp.
Congratulations to you madam for your new baby, I wish you all the best,This thing is likely what Yoruba call "alefo" if you can get a leaf call KOROPO you just cook it and use it to bath him it will go, or better still visit the ìyá alagbo i
at the market. However, do not give him any concosion to drink as he is too young for that. I wish you all the best.

Sorry oh, please if you can afford it, buy savlon antiseptic liquid to add to the baby water to bath, and also buy sudocrem to rub on the skin, anywhere this rashes appear. It should clear it. Or best option, please go and see a qualified paediatrician doctor, let them check your baby well and prescribe what's best to cure it, because it might also be an internal infection. Please see doctor quick. There was a time my baby had some boil ish, as broke as I was den, I borrow money go see paediatrician doctor for LASUTH. Na so God save me oh, cuz d baby had an internal infection, not just outwards and na d internal infection come dey cause d skin ish and cause fever. Please don't joke with baby health oh. God bless. Wish you the best and speedy recovery for your beautiful baby smiley

Modified: na now I just dey read your post finish. Please oh, don't mind those doctors at that hospital you birth your baby. They can be non challant and lax sometimes. Take him elsewhere, like Ayinke House in LASUTH, they have many good paediatricians there. Let them run tests on your baby, cuz as a newborn one month old, is possible those are caused by traces of infection from childbirth. Abeg oh, act fast. Babies are fragile
Buy Epiderm cream and apply morning afternoon and evening

Buy TYDINEAL cream and SHEA BUTTER (local) 100 or 150 naira tops. Melt the Shea butter mix with the TYDINEAL cream. Bath him with antiseptic soap of your choice and use the Shea butter mix as body cream. You'll changes this time tomorrow.

Tydineal cream to the rescue!!! I can testify because my baby had this on her skin and in a couple of days, it cleared up totally.
