RIP sir. He was the founder of Standard Breweries Ltd at Alomaja Village in ibadan, the brewers of Club Beer..who remembers Club Lager Beer? smiley my uncle was one of the line managers before the company packed up. I worked in his standard packaging Ltd (a woven sacks and plastics division) briefly after my SSCE in this days while awaiting admission.

He also founded standard flower Mills, standard biscuits,Dr Pepper among others. I waited for his Aramed Centre built in memory of his mum to come on steam so I could work there, which could have been the largest and the best-equipped private hospital in Nigeria at that time ,located on entering ibadan after solelbonel quarry. Unfortunately he abandoned the project after the wards and building was completed for the reason best known to him. I hope his children would make it happen.

silent tycoon is the best name that fits him. He lived large but was a quiet man. Some of his companies I know are as below

1-standard packaging nigeria Ltd( a woven sack and plastic company)

2- standard flour mills in Apapa

3- Stabdard Foods( manufacturers of crown biscuits)

4- standard breweries ( brewers of Club Beer, now defunct)

5-Dr Pepper ( a soft drinks company, now defunct)

An industrialist per excellence.

I like his style but I'm afraid the E-Money's of this world seem to have overshadowed what entrepreneurship is really like.

Hushouppi was said to be a legitimate businessman until he landed in jail after defrauding nearly 2m people of their hard earned funds. Wait! Only God knows who's next in the line. No businessman/woman who makes money legitimately would flaunt his/her wealth like those guys do when they're not celebs...quote me anywhere

Bode Akindele is not a successful businessman; he owns my dad more than 3 million as entitlement not only him and also workers of Associated Matches Industies and the company had closed down more than 10 yrs ago.
If you want to know more about the man ask anybody that leave at Eleyele in Ibadan that is where the company is

The problem with Bode Akindele was that he didn't know how to set up good management. He should have been on the same par with Okoya and Doyin. Unfortunately, Nigerians always run down his businesses. His workers always chop his companies to bankruptcy.
Well sha, he did well compare to his counterparts drinking palm wine all around town in the 50s, 60s, & 70s. RIP

Indeed I agree. The legit will always see his harvest as his seed. So the less of it he eats the better his future. I have more things to invest in than I have cash in the bank. That is the normal mindset of an achiever. Invest, invest and invest. Those who squander are either incompetent or immoral.

lol calm down. That's not his main moneymaker. he diversified to spread his risks, like any smart bizman would do. He just didn't want to pay your dad from other income streams.
