Superbly under remodeling in the old Ibom Tropicana mall sir.
Find pix below

I know Tropicana and I have been there . I was there a few weeks before the pandemic . There was no sign of ShopRite there , apart from the sign post at the intersection between Oron road and Udo Udoma stating "coming soon". Or are you telling me now that ShopRite has opened up in Uyo ?

Akwai-Ibom and Cross river government can collaborate to make both states better.

What we need right now is collaboration between states not competition.

It is well.

Ok let me explain to you..do you know that back of that Tropicana wey the building pix below is located ...there is a remodeling job currently going on at the back of that cinema ... shoprite is currently renovating the abandoned Ibom mall.

Note ..
The first pix is the building opposite the shoprite will be.
The second pix is the cinema you visited
The third pix is the shoprite section which is at the back of the second pix building. And are all in one building..
Please read carefully to understand me

The boss I said they are currently renovating the back side of that Tropicana not that they are operating for now.
Renovating work is currently ongoing at the back of that same building you visited ....note at the back

See how peaceful and productive this thread has been. If it was the 2 sides that usually fight themselves here lipsrsealed, it would have degenerated to something else.

If shoprite can open shop in Uyo, then that would be a remarkable development.

I am from Okourutip. The ancestral home of Ibeno people. What @Hunchogee said about Ibeno LGA is the truth. There are many untapped resources in Ibeno. I remember years back I was 20yrs old then and I went for holiday to my Village and I decided to visit my Uncle staying in one of the Islands known as Utana Iwoekpom. They use most of the Islands as fishing settlements. As we were approaching this Island through the creeks from a very far distance on our speed boat I was hearing loud noises like that of an aeroplane and I asked if we were going to the airport. They laughed at me and answered, "No". When we finally got there, it was the waves from the Atlantic ocean rising as high as two palm trees and hitting the shores of the Island. In my mind , I said this place will be good for surfing. I spent one lovely unforgettable week on that Island. The whole place is neglected. There are many foreigners there, many of them use the place as routes to countries like Gabon, Cameroun, Equatorial Guinea etc.
God will continue to bless Akwa Ibom state.

God has already blessed Akwa Abasi Ibom State; it is left for me, you and the rest of the world to harness this gift.

The present governor wey dey handle development like politics
...but, you know say na akwaibom people dey do menial jobs in Lagos - Cook, home care, farming, security, etc. If the state govt dey do well, all those things for no happen..
If they can build vocational training centres in all the local government areas training people in auto mechanic, Computer Eng & software engineering, phone repairs, baking, electrical engineering, welding, plumbing, etc,.. there wl be much improvement, before they complete their port and others

This is d reason I get pissed with u guys dat claim major tribes, put all d population of the AkwaIbom people doing menial jobs in Lagos or the population Nigeria and the entire population of Yoruba people selling agbo, d men selling sex wonders, and all of them doing menial jobs na who plenty pass?
Add the menial job people in Osun and Ekiti state shey he no pass AkwaIbom?
Wetin. You de talk as if your state de do anything but when you hear AkwaIbom you rush to stereotype.
Ogbeni mind your state own don't preach to us you aren't better, the ratio of AkwaIbom joblessness to the entire AkwaIbom people is better than the ratio of jobless Yorubas to the entire Yoruba population.
U de use Lagos they generalized people as if you know the numbers of Yorubas women/men wey de do menial jobs outside south west

There is likely no Island in Akwaibom. It is Rivers State that has Islands so maybe you mean shorelines or riverine communities. An Island must be isolated off the coast and deep in the sea
