Yes, it's very good to rear. Put fruits or vegetables in the site about 3 hours before the time you decide to pick and harvest them. They are better than buying in the market because the market snails are dehydrated and that affects their fertility.

How do you get your calcium? I heard one guy talked abt egg shells and cement block as his source of calcium? How do u see it?

Visit any feed mill near you they would surely have Calcium ... I won't advise against Egg shells or cement block because have never used it before and I can't say if it works or not ... But one thing I know for sure is that the cost of 10kg Calcium is almost thesame price as 1 bottle of Goldberg grin

Avoid touching the eggs with your bare hands as it may affect there hatching... Bury it for them but don't bury it too deep under the ground

Someone told me there are strange diseases that sometimes hit the snails. Is there any disease other than normal enemies like ants, lizard, snakes, rats and others that can hit them badly so far they are in conducive environment? But i thought the mortality rate of snails is so minimal compared to poultry .

I don't know the name well enough but there is a pathogen from poultry droppings/manure that is disastrous to snails, so they should stay away from manure. Also some flies can lay eggs within the snail shells and their larvae can eat the snails from within. They can also happen with the eggs. Snails can also get bloated when they eat starchy food. However, their mortality rate is really low and they can withstand almost any thing But with snails, when they come down with something (Disease or infection), it's detrimental to them.

I don't understand how rats and lizards can be pests to snails though? Any clarifications?
