Can someone who uses Chaka please tell me what could be happening to my account since yesterday. Despite the fact that I had given the customer service calls on several occasions the lady keep telling me she will call me back but never call back. I ended up calling her on those instances. I had some fund in dollars in my global account which I wanted to withdraw. Since I had to exchange first to naira, I did that since yesterday's morning around 7am but it's still showing"incoming cash" in my local account. Does it take so long to be reflected in the local account before one can eventually make a withdrawal? Does that mean it will normally take almost a week for fund to hit the naira account from global -local - naira account?

Yes, not sure it takes up to a week. But it takes several days.

Ok thanks a lot bro. I have been on and off the phone since but it's been resolved now. I have been able to initiate a withdrawal. Thanks

You don't need TIN to register. Just type Not Legally Required. I have opened an account with them and it just took me a day. The problem is the depositing.
You need skrill and I don't know how to go about it.
i think you also need a passport to verify skrill. Don't you think so?

Can't we withdraw to a dorm account instead?

For those using trading 212 platform. Note that they don't accept Nigeria debit/credit card. The other alternative to fund your account is either bank wire ( if you have domiciliary account) or SKRILL.

I have been chewing up on the best sectors and stocks to take position for a life time/long term riches in US stocks.
I envision members of this forum also being USD millionaires through investing in stocks that will become blue chips in the next 3-5yrs.
Just as investors did in Apple when it was a penny stock, the world is full of fantastic opportunities that will mint new millionaires.
A hint of the sectors about to create a new generation of wealthy people include:
1. 5G
2. EV
3. Lithium
Are you ready?

Yes ooo.

By the way, Albertsons Companies Inc.(NYSE: ACI), American second-largest supermarket went public last week. This company can now be traded on Trove but still unavailable on Chaka. I think this is a stock to keep on our watchlist.

Good idea. However the leading companies in these sectors are not penny stocks. One of them is Telsa in EV and Lithium. In 5G there is Qualcomm which is also not a penny stock.
In my opinion, opportunities are not always very obvious. When Amazon was a penny stock years ago, I saw them as a company just selling used books. Their business model was not that appealing, but it turned out to be a hidden gem.
Don't be suprise if the next big thing comes from companies that are into Organic foods.

I've been having issues verifying my address on skrill. I've tried my email bank statement and my NIN slip but still doesn't get approved. How did you go about verifying yours?

And the debit/credit card, will the UBA Africard be accepted since it can be used in numerous countries in Africa?

I’m mostly interested in penny stocks because of the huge returns they can provide although they are quite volatile. They are EV penny stocks and the EV sector is hot now. Workhorse an EV truck manufacturer that plans to win a contract to supply UPS with trucks recently rose from $3 to nearly $20 although I won’t advise getting into it as it seems over valued now. Some other penny stocks in the EV sector to conduct research on are SOLO which makes little EV cars although I don’t like the vehicles because they’re quite ugly but it has potential... Bill Gates and Warren Buffet were seen riding it. AYRO: makes WV club cars for golf courses, universities, airports and other short distances and NIO although it isn’t a penny stick and it has connections to China so I’ll watch how that can affect the value

Ev sector hot today because it tesla sales record, SOLO +34% AYRO NIO WKHS

I got an email from skrill that my account has been permanently closed after I submitted a proof of address for verification.
Has anyone ever encountered similar problem?

What's the next step I should take?

Is there a chance that I can get Skrill to reopen my account?

Pls, your inputs would be very much appreciated.

Skrill has a lot of complaints against them. From closing accounts without any tangible explanations to high deduction without refund. The list goes on. That's the only reason I paused my registration with trading 212.

Check naira land for more of those complaints. You might just decide to move on to something else.

Why not use wire transfer for Trading 212 instead Skrill?

I was told I need a dollar account for wire transfer by someone on Nairaland. Is that true? If so, what bank do you suggest I open one?

All the banks will open domiciliary account for you. In most cases, the requirements are the same with opening current account. Once opened, you are expected to fund the account with dollars.

Yes, a dom account. I don't like giving all the banks free plugs, but GTbank is good for that

Now my Tesla story.
I bought Tesla $711.53 on 2nd March 2020 to trade it at the slightest $100 gain.
Along the line, I decided I will hold long term.

After weeks of rigmarole, it shot up to $814.42 on 20th May 2020 and I sold happily with a $950 gain, forgetting my last decision to hold long term.

Behold, 20 days after, I mean just yesterday, Tesla popped $1,025/share. My $950 gain would have been a $2,910 (N1,309,500.00) gain if I had been patient for only 20 days!

Now am going to have to experience a long wait for a pullback/crash to buy back if it falls under $900 for my long term holding.

Morale of this post:
We are not trading shares, we are literally trading patience.

Please which App can I use to buy Tesla stocks? (Funding with bitcoin, if possible)

At 17, you are already well above your peers. If you start now and stay the course, your money will grow by compounding and you will be financially independent before you know it.

Start small and limit speculative trades. I would've suggested you avoid speculative trades completely but the truth is, at your age, even if you lose money in risky trades, you have your whole life ahead of you to make up for it. So what will I suggest? 90% of your portfolio should be in high growth stocks but in diversified sectors. The remaining 10% can be invested in micro caps, disruptor stocks(marijuana, biotech, 5G etc) and crypto.

Yeryer, it's very nice to know you are also into cryp.to. Are you a hodler or trader? I got into cryp.to during the late 2017/2018 ATH and I was burnt cos I bought some worthless ICOs then. I've learnt my lessons though but I have not given up though. I held on to my position all through the long heart rendering bearish market....bad move though.....still holding till now ... gradually moving positions to projects with future prospects on the long run. Hoping the recent btc halving will bring about the much awaited bull run.

What's your take on the following picks: NE.O, EO.S, Ontology, Electro.neum, Xinfin, Hedera Hash.graph and Quant. It will be nice if you could please mention any project that is also worth following.

Thanks.

Apologies all for cross posting please...

Hi Oakpeal, many thanks for this heads up.

I saw this post yesterday morning and I quickly did some research on EV stocks. My quick search lead me to Electrameccanica Vehicle (SOLO) among other viable stocks also considering the fact that it is a small cap stock. With the information I read, it seems quite promising and I bought a few number of shares. Between yesterday and today, I'm up 59.5%. Although I don't know what brought about this huge increase but I'm glad I didnt delay when I saw Oakpeal's post.
