Funny enough an investment of 100m in 2015 used to buy 10 trucks at 10m each generating 500k permonth has generated only 220m in 5 years ....if i now take out depreciation and sell all the trucks todays at 6m each it will be 50m ....so in five years i have 260m and grey hairs while my oga invested in 5000sqm land facing an express way within an urban area and sold for 280m without any stress .....i ended up creating jobs for tyre sellers ,vulcanizer,spare part dealers,drivers ,motor boys and operations staff....insurance firms ......while my mentor was busy attending board meetings in 5 star hotels me i was busy doing shouting match and galvanizing around depots

Not possible, to have 35% average returns. Any Investment that will give 15% to 20% average return is not doing badly at all.

N1 million at a compound annual growth rate of 35% will grow to N20 million in 10 years, N400 million in 20 years and N8 billion in 30 years.

Compound interest is very good for Investors and lenders but very bad for debtors and borrowers

Compound annual growth rate of 17.5%.

Any Investment that gives an annual return of 15% to 20% is too good.

Some have long term bonds of 16% and above

19.3% not 17.5%

You invested in the real economy, created jobs directly and indirectly, paid taxes, still have enough to invest in other asset classes and teach the knowledge. You've done plenty for the system as I'm sure you're aware. People like you make Emefiele happy grin cheesy

Good day everyone, I would like to know if it is wise to invest in EuroBonds now, I have 10k USD I am not using, it's just idle in my account.

Or I should rather sell to black market.

Thanks

Check via your banking app. Sometimes the transaction alert gets delayed even though said transaction has occurred.

It is doable. Let's assume he started lecturing at 24.

For a salary of 300k, if 20% (kept asside for investing) for the next 16 years ==> 300k x 12months x 16years x 20% = 11,5200,000 .

Assuming he is good at investing in real estate and stocks.

11.5 mil compounded for d next 20 years at 35% yearly return will be nothing less than ==> 11,520,000 x ( 1 + 0.35 )^ 20 = 4.66 billion !! .

That is 36 years of saving and judicious investing with God on his side. It can be done, I am trying to do this.

I don't know if this is possible but it's what i'm gunning for. I started visiting this thread when i was 16 years.

Now, i am 23. I earn above XX salary. I invest 250K monthly in Digital agriculture and then 100K in bitcoin. My goal is get within 25% -35% returns for 17 years.
I know digital agriculture is risky but i try to invest in the safest of them all.

My risk appetite is much bigger than most of the elders here.

But i'm hoping to retire by 40 years so i can focus on learning and teaching.

I use this tool for my compound interest calculations:

I suggest you put some of the monies for the Digital agriculture in good dividend paying stocks for d long term, just to diversify and edge against risks .

You are 23 years old?

That's amazing

Many young men your age do not even have the foresight to plan for their finances long term

I applaud you for this....

However....

I will advice you

That the risk you are bearing is very high

To taper down the risk a little bit
Why dont you consider investing a certain proportion of your income per month on equities ?

Picking good equities overtime (dividend receipts plus capital appreciation) will do you a lot of good.
.trust me

Digital agric and Bitcoin alone as your entire portfolio will do you no good

I have to tell you the truth

You need to broaden your portfolio base a lil bit more....

This is a friendly advice

Its left for you to make your choice

Cheers

You have also mentioned this to him.?

That's what I'm also telling him

Equities investment over time benefits in two ways

The capital appreciation and the dividend

Concluded a 3000 sqm transaction recently for 150m, when we checked , land was purchased in 2014 for 70m

Location is key

Naira was also around 170/180 in 2014

In 2014 =70,000, 000/180 = $388,888

Let's assume $1=455
In 2020 = 150,000,000/455 = $329, 670

Loss = 329,670 - 388, 888 = - $59,120

How about just keeping the 100m in dollars in your domiciary account in 2015 ($1=180) and then convert it to naira now ($1=$455). You are even better off.
