BARAJ92:
Man Utd must learn how to tie this youth players on big contract or learn the model from Chelsea, we cant be losing potential world class players on free transfer.
We should just tie the academy products down......the same way we did with Lingard?

Apart from this season (due to transfer ban) Chelshit academy products don't end up playing for them.

And please don't compare our academy dealings with Chelshit....the same Man Utd won the league with teenagers ( class of 92) and also included atleast 1 academy product in our match day squard for more than 40 years now

The only person that has left recently is Gomes, and there are possible explanations for him leaving. Chelshit has not gained anything on the pitch from their model.
It can be argued that they have wrecked close to a dozen potential world class talents. They won the FA Youth Cup for 5 straight years and have little to show for it in the senior team.

And tying down unproven youth players with big contract is exactly what we should not do. See as that Chelshit Owusu-Abeyie played a fast one on his club.
1 goal in 29 matches and he is on 120k per week. Criminal!
That is why his friend Gomes rejected Man Utd's offer of 25k per week. Meanwhile Mason Greenwood who is a better player than them right now and a better prospect overall is on 25k per week.
Well said however, low key Chelsea have managed to make some good money courtesy of sales. Recently, Atlanta took up the option to buy Pasalic for 15m that low key good money. They're several others they sell between 5 - 10m...So, whilst they're not getting to benefit on the field of play, their account is steadily smiling...

Imagine if we loaned Gomes out last year to Aston Villa or Sheffield and he does well, we could easily have them pay 15-20m for him. I believe that's the Chelsea model Baraja was talking about and not necessarily to have them play for the senior team.

Yh.. Chelsea are good in making cash out of their academy products but sucks in transforming them to great players.

While reverse is the case for Man Utd....

If I am to pick one.... I would go for United

Even a god as wicked as Moloch would cry at the number of careers that Chelshit have destroyed with their mass production and mass loan model.

Never in the premier league was a team crowned champions, their fans attacked police officers, scruffied up their city, drove to rival fans stadiums, lit fireworks outside stadiums, claimed to be back on their perch and then got smashed 4-0 all in a space of 1 week.

If Solskjaer names an unchanged team tomorrow it will be the first time since October/November 2006 that Manchester United have been unchanged in three consecutive league matches.

Nobody is advocating that we should completely embrace the Chelsea model however, in some instances it is applicable. Staying true to our tradition, the very good young players should be integrated into the first team whilst others who are not good enough or have their path to the first team blocked Ala Gomes should be loaned out and sold eventually.

The club spends a lot to develop some of these players that losing them on a free shouldn't suffice...

I just realized that by 5pm tomorrow, we will be in 4th position cheesy cheesy

To be honest, chelshit tried sha but they are just not good enough grin grin
Tbh I'm wary of that game against Bournemouth tomorrow, very cautiously optimistic is the best word I'll use cos my heart has been broken so many times over this years.

Solskjær: "Of course there are a couple of knocks. You do start feeling things now after a little bit, so there might be a couple of changes but let’s see today. The boys who didn’t play on Tuesday want to play and are ready to step in if they have to."

Solskjær: "Phil [Jones] and Axel [Tuanzebe] will still be out for a little while. It’ll be a few weeks before Phil can start training and Axel, we won’t probably see until September. Ethan is going to join the training group now.”

We shouldn't be thinking this way Bro. Though we've been disappointed countless of time, but it shouldn't mean we should lose our Appetite because of Teams like Bournemouth.

Dem go chop am.

OGS: "It's been a while since we went on a run like this. We're definitely feeling confident and in good form, and we should be because we worked so hard over lockdown to get that match sharpness."
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:34am On Jul 03, 2020
OGS: "I don't think it will be an easy game — they'll come here and fight for points.

"They're one of the best teams in the league for set-plays, but if we play to our best, we'll create enough chances to win the game."
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:35am On Jul 03, 2020
Solskjær on Greenwood: "We have done well over the course of the season, giving him more and more exposure, more and more game time, not easy being a young boy - he could still play in the FA Youth Cup team - so he’s a young boy we have to look after."
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:36am On Jul 03, 2020
Solskjær: "He’s [Greenwood] performing off the bench or when he starts and he’s developed fantastically this season — the sky’s the limit, it’s up to him. He knows what he should do can do and must do to continue playing, but that’s between us."

Solskjær: "If you're worried about what's said about you, what's written about you then you shouldn't be in this job."

Solskjær: "His [Greenwood] body is filling out and he can play that position [centre-forward]. Like we’ve seen with Marcus and Anthony, they are good footballers and good goal-scorers and good movement. They’re not stuck between the posts."
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:39am On Jul 03, 2020
Solskjær: "He’s [Greenwood] a centre-forward by trade but likes to drift wide, likes to face forwards and that’s a different role from the role of through the middle."

Solskjær: "I’ve watched quite a few games yesterday — quite a lot of football on the telly at the moment. I watched two very, very good teams on show [Man City & Liverpool]. We believe we’re on the right track, can improve and close the gap further."
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:42am On Jul 03, 2020
Solskjær: "I'm very pleased with so many clean sheets — at the moment we're defending well.

"We know that we are capable of creating chances, so if you have foundations to build from the back, with the intensity of the defensive work, then you've got a team."

Solskjær on Jude Bellingham: "I think there’s been loads of speculation linking us to every single talented player from age of 15 to 25, I can’t comment on every single player that’s been linked with us, I can’t really comment."

OGS on selection issues: "If there are a couple of changes don't be surprised just because we have got to look after the players. I've got many reasons to play the same team that did so well against Sheff Utd + Brighton but I also have reasons to rotate."

Solskjær: "I’ve seen lots of quotes saying we have an easy run in but next five games - Bournemouth we lost against them earlier in the season, Aston Villa we drew at Old Trafford, Southampton we drew to them, lost to Palace, lost to West Ham."
