ASTHMA GETS BETTER IN PREGNANCY.... YOU WILL HARDLY HAVE ATTACKS. 1) She needs to keep an active lifestyle when pregnant, like slow walking on a field or dust free road. 2)Try not to offend her, when she gets extremely angry or overly excited, it can trigger the asthma, 3) She should tell the doctors and nurses at every appointment that she is asthmatic, keep on reminding them 4) avoid taking medication anyhow cos most asthma is allergic.... Example, she should avoid medicines like ibuprofen 5) you need to go to a good hospital when she wants to deliver incase she needs oxygen - don't be afraid, it's just precautions, I am asthmatic so my clinic always refer me to a gynecologist in a big hospital with facilities, I have never needed oxygen though but my doctor said pain can cause you to panic and make it difficult to breath. I was asthmatic from childhood and suffered what can't be stated here. When it's crisis period I normally think I won't make the next minute. Breathing in and out became an arduous labour and yes! Eat plenty of garlic garlic regularly....... Boil ginger as well nd drink regularly. Avoid cold water, fried food or anything that contains fat for now . Do not stay in a dusty environment. Also drink much water (ordinary). And cover ursef appropriately dis cold period. Above all pray regularly for there was some nothing prayer cannot do.... 2 Likes |

Back to the topic the weather is very cold because of rains. She should keep warm preferably use a sweater, Warm tea, lemon and honey ok. Like someone suggested avoid fried things, but the most important avoid things made from flour eg bread, cake, chinchin and of course exercise regularly. akuto: Good advice. The first thing in her handbag or pocket should be an inhaler (before lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner, wallet etc). INHALER. There are many variants in the market. Make sure a good physician is prescribing the one she uses. Buy several, and keep one in her bag, in the house, her office drawer, her car, your car (just like carrying about an extra pad when on menses). Asthma is managed and not cured. I would not take corticosteroids like prednisone without doctor's advice. It is a dangerous medication that is readily available and abused by many. |
