With GTB mobile app it's a straight forward process. The maximum amount you're qualified for is automatically generated(which you can edit) and you adjust the tenure of the loan using the slider, input your four digit pin code. Shikenan......

Sir, the amount u where qualified for, was it a fraction of your savings at the time? If so, what was percentage in relation to ur savings at the time? No vex.

Bro, did you take the loan? How many people will take such loan when it is apparent they don't need it?

I have 10 mil in my account for a very long time now u as bank decide to offer me 4 mil as loan because of my balance, why should I take it and be paying interest when I can use my idle money?

If that is how they go about it they wont get enough people to go with it.

Concerning default, most salary accounts have a consistent payment period every month, mine does. So how can I default when salary goes through the bank first? Risk to them could be seize in salary and that is where they should do their homework.

Anyway, all this based on my rational thinking and I am probably wrong.

I did not take it because i did not need it. The system that produces such a report is automated and it is normally consumer loans targeted at salary earners. The automated process runs based on certain parameters and it generates a list of those qualified and an sms or email is automatically sent to recipient or it automatically appears in your Mobile App or Internet Banking. You are free to ignore it or take it by just clicking a button. It is bot every account holder that it sends the information to.

The idea is for you to be aware that you are qualified for such an amount.

I don't know the parameters considered to generate the amount I was qualified for. And I don't think it was solely a fraction or percentage of my savings either. Bankers in the house can help us here.

What does REIT mean?

REIT own residential, industrial and Commercial properties etc Malls, multi storey car parks, event centers, luxury apartment buildings, office buildings, shopping complex , entertainment centres etc

Real Estate Investment Trust. We have 3 publicly quoted REITs in Nigeria

1 UPDC REIT, has properties in choice areas worth over N23 billion and about N4 billion invested in bonds

2 Union Homes REIT has properties worth N10 billion and N1 billion in liquid assets

3 SFS REIT has properties worth N2.2 billion and N500 million in liquid....

Others REITs are private owned.

You may not be able to fully own a property located in Ikoyi that earns rents in dollars, but when you have REIT you can derive the benefits of such investments.

An investor got over N20 million from his Investments in UPDC REIT in 2019

It can't work. Such a man is not chasing clout, not trying to impress anyone and is at peace with himself. Won't give more than he has been giving

A gold fish has no hiding place, if you are big no matter how simple you appear in your dressing, car etc. certain things like your confidence, peace of mind, calmness etc will give you out

So how does one invest in REIT ?

Through your stock broker

It depends on the company, the number of shares they have

UPDC REIT is N4.00 per share paid 58k last year .

If you have 1 million shares that means you will earn 580k as dividend

. SFS REIT is N62.70k paid N7.00 last year.

The beauty of it is that it is not all the money they pay out as dividend, parts are used in buying bonds and other liquid assets which they usually liquidate to buy more investment properties.

Just last year, UPDC REIT sold about N3 billion worth of Treasury Bills to buy Kingsway Shopping Mall in Marina Lagos

This one happened aboard too or was it in Naija?

Sholapey:
You are absolutely right sir! Some years ago we were accused of not contributing anything to the church we attended then by the elders because in the church they give you envelope with your family name but we don't like that, we use a blank brown envelope and my hubby was forced to say if they see envelopes with no written name always and the cashier agreed to always seeing one without name and my husband said that was us. Because when he was a Muslim you don't tell your left hand what you do for your right hand, that we don't believe in taking the glory. They immediately changed their attitude towards us and they started giving us red carpet welcome but when we see that, we stopped going to the church the pastor and his crew always come to our house to change our minds we had to tell them we were relocating before they stop coming.

All the things we have been discussing here. Little drops of water makes the big ocean. The journey of a thousand mile starts with a step.

Don't live to impress anyone. Live below your means. Invest and have multiple streams of passive income. Avoid High Yield Investment Schemes and Ponzi schemes.

Slow and steady wins the race
Thank you sir

And to add
Consistency is the key

Make it a habit to set aside something every month JUST FOR INVESTMENT

A young lady I advised years ago to be setting aside some money every month just for investment CONSISTENTLY (not you this month, skip the next two months, then half payment for the fourth month)
She is reaping the benefits

And she greets me very well anytime we get to encounter

That's just what I wanted to add @barrydiv7

When investment becomes a HABIT
It sticks with u forever
Thanks too, I appreciate

You don't need to do better than them, you become their enemies when you become independent and don't need handouts from them again..

I think a billionaire should be able to create a minimum of 10 millionaires.

Even from parents, it can be that bad.
