Although i agree with first part of statement but second one? seriously? USA coughed and coughing since 70s what happened to to small, Almost failed state of North Korea, that depends upon World Food Program? and you are talking about a nation that is 3rd and 5th largest economy based upon various parameters? To much extravagant man.

North Korea ain't a match to US in war. Trump only wanted peace to reign. Same approach Bush used for Iraq but Hussein remained adamant before US inventually attacked Baghdad.

Suspension is a form of sanction. Do you know how many students lost scholarship opportunities and how many people were denied of visa and travel opportunities because of that suspension?

tutudesz:

Suspended and not sanctioned.

Sanction Nigeria? Seriously is either the Ops lack the knowledge of international relation.
1. Sanction means Nigeria will withdraw it's membership from Commonwealth nations
2. All the assets of BP and other oil companies own by citizens of UK will be taken over by FG.

Can Nigerian companies get oil out of the ground without foreign help?

UK can easily get support from other countries to punish Nigeria. People listen to vibes from Britain as former colonial master.

BP can divest its Nigeria operations easily and move on. On the international scene since Abacha era, Nigeria has never been at its lowest ebb of reputation.

An ordinary Ghanaian citizen can bulldoze part of Nigerian High Commission and nothing happens aside a lame apology that is a mere formality.

As a son of middle belt region, this is a Wonderful development. Please this sanction should be quickly placed on Nigeria. There has been genocide perpetrated against the Christian population. A silent slaughter! This is brutally carried out by the Fulani terrorists with active connivance of the Buhari government. IPOB has done well in this regard to get the world to know the genocide happening here.

But Omenka is from Benue State, he claims no killing is going on that IPOB are lying just to tarnish Buhari's government?

Buhari is not my father so that's a wrong analogy. As far as I'm concerned his life is too useless to be of any value to me.

Yes, I agreed he is not your father but you can equate or put him in your father's position. I agreeduhag Buhalofe is too useless as you have said but the is something I strongly believe, your father is not as successful as Buhari.

Thanks to all those that have helped to push this nonsensical and non-existent narrative on social media and internationally.

It is great to know that sanctions will be imposed on the country.

It is also wonderful that everyone of us will feel the impact of these sanctions...even the so-called "persecuted Christians."

God bless Nigeria!

I have never insulted on nairaland before..and you cannot make me do it today.

So the killing of people in the middle belt particularly Benue and Plateau is nonsensical.
For your information am from Benue State..and i've witnessed first hand the killing of my people.but because we are minority tribes in Nigeria no one cares.
Because sanctions will affect Nigeria, they shouldn't be imposed so that evil will continue as long people like you wake up everyday smiling to high heavens in the comfort of your parents wealth you think everything is ok.

If your words were as fierce as you think, you should know that, there is nothing as constant as change.

Pray such massacre never be meted on people in your region. WAR IS NOT SOMETHING TO WISH FOR.

All those behind the killings of innocent Christians in Nigeria by the power and authority God has given the Christians, God will soon silent them. Very soon, God will pure His anger upon everyone who is behind it. God's revenge is imminent upon them and it's inevitable. Jesus Christ is Lord.

UK should not sanction Nigeria, that would affect all Nigerians and the poor, ordinary Nigerians would suffer even more.
What they should do is:

- Ensure that if that thing that comes to the UK for Medical tourism comes again in th enect few Months, he does not return to Nigeria, except in a Bag
- Freeze all the Money the Politicians have looted and kept in your banks and use it to supply educational materials to Nigerian schools
- Work with the E.U and America to ensure that Nigerian Politicians cannot travel out of Nigeria so that when they get infected with another Super-CoroVirus in future, the would all die, one by one...as the current CoronaVirus Lockdown has shown.
- Drive all their Children away back to Nigeria, from any foreign University in Europe, America, UK, Middle East and Asia.

These are the santions we want, if the UK is really sincere. Dont keep their loot in your bank, shield them from prosecution as you are shielding Dezzianni Madueke and then come on air to be forming righteous. undecided

You must be joking. They will teach you people a big lesson and nuke life out of your economy with all manners of sanctions. Ask Iran . in fact let Nigeria try to reciprocate the ban

If that yearly contribution is that important to UK, they'll give everyone that meets the study requirements visa sharp sharp. Rate of refusal these days is just too high, even for highly qualified candidates undecided

My take; instead of the sanction, just do something that'll break us into smaller countries in peace, the way they joined us together by force in 1914

1.the only ONLY two regions feeding these country called Nigeria are Niger Delter and Middle-belt
2.Igbo are the industrial machinery of the nation
3.Yoruba na knowledge

Middle belt is ok on our own..Nigeria should simply let every region go. The holy war launched by usman dan-fodio is still going on..All the states in the middle belt are nothing to write home about except plateau.
The core north knows we are not part of them. nothing good comes to the middle belt. The north keeps fooling us. The food they claim is coming from north is middle belt.
