This is not what I pray for but it is happening to me right now, I just reach my house now from the pure water company which give me the offer to come and start work on Monday with #15,000 salary. I am fed up and tired of walking around the street of Ibadan looking for job and begging for money from my friends and family before I can eat. Does it means that I wasted all my life time and my parent's money for this so called education without good job?

My problem is that if I start this job I will not be able to look out for any other job again because I will be in the company from 8am-6pm daily or I should just continue with my job search?

If you have any job openings in Ibadan or you see any poster of genuine job opening around Oluyole, Elebu, New garage area. Pls let me know

You went to school up to Masters level yet you cannot create a job for yourself right? Please do whatever you can find. I can't pity. You can't prepare yourself to do any of the numerous online jobs right? Stay there and be looking for job sir. This is what happens when you go to school for the sole purpose of getting a nice job at the end of the day and NOT to be educated. Go use your head to make a life for yourself please. Stop writing stuppid things here.

The pay is very small but I believe in someone doing something rather than staying at home and begging for money here and there.God only meets one at their point of work not at their point of sleep.legit money is very difficult to make but we all will continue to strive.take this job and just assume that you are there to learn.God will surely come through for you.it was while I was working as a manager of a pure water company with meagre pay that I got this my present job.i will always tell people that if your Bsc certificate haven't fetched you money DON'T go further to invest more into masters and it's likes except you are in an academic environment that actually requires that.use the little money that you have to start something and not investing it further into getting masters and it's likes.this is Nigeria and we all have to adapt. Bsc is the benchmark others are suplimentary.

For many smart students, this lock down should get them thinking, so what if i am done with school now, what next?
Is this how i will be idle and depending on parents, friends, well wishers?

The post of one guy above is true. I believe you went to school and did your Msc and Masters with the sole aim of graduating, getting a lucrative job and sitting in the office. Because i don't see any reason why throughout your first degree and second degree, you don't have any tangible skill that can fetch you money.

The world has gone digital, learn a digital skill. Some young guys you see today that are rich now are not even into yahoo or any form of fraud. Some of them took good advanage of bitcoin, some are forex millionaires, some made it through blogging, vlogging, writing, etc.

My advice, you need to restrategize. Look for how to solve problems and money go rush you. Look around in your neighborhood and find out things that people need or cant do withouot everyday that is lacking.
Once you find this, you are on your way to success.

Goodluck.

Ibadan is not too good for academicians. Education is not too valued. Home lesson or tutorial centre not rampant. So many people with little available jobs. No communal land for farming. Most companies in ibadan have their headquarter in lagos. Therefore you may not see advert for placement for long. Artisans have a better opportunity there. I will advise u spread your tentacles to other states. You can start with teaching job.

Thank you for this information, someone also adviced me yesterday to learn hand work instead of working for penny and I have been thinking of what I can learn since yesterday. I will check it online and give you feedback but I hope it is free or not too costly.

To @all, Thanks for all the advices given and word of encouragement, To some that say that I should start a small business,i think I can't just start any business without having capital or prior knowledge of the business,if you can help me out with the capital I will appreciate it. I would have also move to Lagos but I don't have anybody I can stay with in Lagos,my brother who is in Lagos also struggling in Lagos to feed his family and I can't just go there and add my own but if I can get ready made job around Ikorodu area that I can use to sustain myself before I get better offer I will probably move to Lagos.

And also if you have an automatic car that I can also use for uber or bolt in Ibadan, I am available.

My brother, why not try something else. #15000 salary is nothing to write home about.
What can you do apart from the certificate? I think with your intelligence you can enroll for vocational study and within a year you can start something for yourself.
Bro do you have a friend whose car is lying fallow? Have you considered UBER?
Can you drive taxi? I tell you alot of people want to invest in that field but getting a good man is difficult.
Have you considered relocating? If you can relocate you might get job openings.
Are you still in touch with your high school mates? How about those friends you had while in the university? Some of them are now millionaires.
Please use your past relationships with people as leverage, if needs be you might need to take a bow to achieve what you want to achieve.
Please ignore the 15 k job and restrategize.

Better days ahead bro, I'll see you when you get there.
Cheers!

They've come again. The economy is growing at a rate not more than 3% annually, purchasing income has plummeted, currency has lost its value, declining government's revenues etc. BTW, using the mentality of "Must you work for someone?" is a very bad way to become a successful entrepreneur. Trust me, it's bad.

Let me tell you: no nation was designed for your rising or falling. In this same Nigeria, many are doing just fine without any assistance from the government. They are facing the same rot of a country; they wake up to be welcomed by the challenge to survive, yet they'd never stoop so low, yet they know their value, yet they know where they belong, yet they are ready to fight. They look inward to see the stuff they're made of and find gold there. They are not discouraged, but are always willing to make life happen to them.

Our help comes from God who made the heaven and earth NOT from anybody or government. I'm not trying to absolve the government of their responsibilities, but where the government fails, you don't have to fail with them. At the end of the day, it's about you and your family and not you and the government. This is how I think.

On the other hand, the Nairaland forum is enough help to get you started. The business section offers opportunities and ideas. I say again that if you are waiting for the government to help you, shame on you. The help you seek may never come. Stand up and fight and watch God crown your effort with success. That's the way to go; not about complaining or murmuring but fighting to redeem the essence of your living.

Ok.Sorry if it came out the wrong way.

Do you know how much an MSc costs and it's duration? Someone who doesn't have ppl in high places and not in an academic environment has no business with MSc until you have a regular source of income.

It is from your job that you fund ur MSc. That 2 to 3 yrs and the MSc fee would have given him a sound capital and biz experience or a viable skill.

Dear Op, it's not too late though. The Nigeria we are in calls for critical thinking.

I talk or write to challenge people. Even if you were here with me physically, I'd talk to you the same way. However, if you feel bad or discourage, I'd apologize to you and walk away, but if you feel challenged and encouraged, we can talk more.

Most importantly, I want that if you want to take a positive action based on what I say, such would come from your heart. There's always that difference between telling someone to do something and the person telling you he wants to do something based on what you say. The latter produces better result than the former.

So it's up to @op. I've long moved away from Nigeria. It's a country that offers no hope and have nothing to offer at present. I work hard everyday to make my life better. I'm completely independent of the government.

I encourage people to be entrepreneurial instead of wasting their time helping others who are entrepreneurial with a reward of peanut. I won't even encourage someone to take a job of 50k let alone 15k. Build your own business. It may take time before it begins to pay you but at the end of the day, you'll be happy you took that bold step. Every big thing starts small. Don't be afraid to start small. God is supporting your position.

After my masters at ui, I lived there for some years. Things are very cheap but looking for a job with masters could be frustrating. The higher institutions only recruit once in a while. Unlike Lagos where you can be attending interview on daily basis.
