So I have been away for a while now and I honestly have no idea of where to start or what to talk about.

How about you ask me your questions and I answer then. I'm super bored and trying to do something new other than reading for the examination I have next week.

For me, this COVID-19 period is still business as usual. I still go to work despite the lockdown because I work in a logistics settings. The only different and frustrating thing is online lecture.

Attending lectures physical is already a problem, not to talk of taking it online and still battling with motivation and everything. The lecturers were just piling up materials at a speed that's rather unusual.

The most intriguing thing that has happened to me recently was getting a new dream job sort of despite COVID-19 and 1 year+ of lager and "leider nicht" emails.

I wouldn't say I have integrated socially if attending parties and the likes is what you mean. I have purposely cut back on that and restructured something's in my life.
But I still manage to get away withy bad German. Infact am so tired of learning this German of a thing. It isn't easy learning it intensively this month and having to take 3 months again. But it is what it is .

Okay, I think I get what you mean, but learning the German to an extent would be good ooo, then also, where you working, what's the treatment or experience you've had with your colleagues and even bosses since thats where your life is mostly focused towards

Nothing spectacular has actually happened since I have been away. I haven't even been to any Schengen country yet. Just work ,school and occasional small travels.

You remember the work I talked about getting the last few episodes I wrote, that work hard oh especially the fact that the working temperature is always 3 hours but I had no much choice so I did it for a very long time even though it was against my liking.

Yes I tried stopping it by taking an intensive language class to improve my language skills. It was a waste of money because I didn't like the class from day one. The tutor was an old lady and I didn't enjoy her approach, most of the people in attendance I felt were in the wrong class because they kept drawing us back with something they should have known.

Anyways, I'm happy I'm stopping the job and will be doing something way related to my study course and in a very good office settings.

Yes you can. Depends on your course and school.

Fortunately, I have no story concerning that. Call me boring and I will accept that grin

Integration
I have been in Germany for more than one year now. Even though I haven't been able to integrate 100% most probably because of language deficiency, I am certainly not at the level I used to be.

I have been a frequent Hospital and clinic goer recently. This is mostly due to the fact that I often need "Krankenschein i.e sick leave letter" and this has helped me though because I have to tell the doctor about some mild symptoms I have been ignoring and they sometimes turn out to be serious. Here in Germany, most direct contract jobs (I can't be too sure about job agents as those one are another case) will entitle you to 6 weeks of sick leave pay in a year unlike the US/Canada where I think it's less than a week.

Why do I have to call in sick even tho my contract is part-time? Well because sometimes because I'm sick, but mostly because as flexible as the job is, I tell them I'm not able to come on a certain day and then become inconsiderate and make it compulsory to come. Before I got to know about Krankenschein, I often times go despite the inconveniences or don't show up at all. Since I got to know about it, I'm able to not show up and still get paid in full like I worked those brutal hours tongue.

Medication can be damn expensive here as compared to what I was used to in Nigeria, but now, I don't even have to convert again I just buy it and walk out.

I'm able to eat out now without having to beat myself up that I am wasting money. Except for Döner and buying food in school and at my workplace were they are quite subsidized, foods can be really expensive and still won't taste good shocked. But I don't mind trying them as the highest amount I pay is €5.

I have been a frequent Afro/Asian/Arab/Turkish store goer as well. Buying in these stores can be very expensive, but they are somewhat the kinds of food ingredients one is used to in Nigeria that you find there. One tuber of Yam can cost as high as €10, 1KG of turkey €4 and the likes. But despite the costs, you get to eat what you like and you hardly do this except you have integrated well here and have stopped the #-€ conversion.

I m happy to see you making progress and as for the language part don't relent, just keep learning as much as you can and don't underestimate Children Radio programs, you can only speak, what you've heard before.
That buying of medicine part, if i am not mistaken, your health insurance should be footing the bill or you pay only 5euro maximum,if the doctor gives you a prescription paper,if not it's going to be really expensive.

I like the part you stop conversion to buy stuff, if not man no go chop. grin grin grin

When I just arrived in Germany, as good as the weather is summer was, I hated it because the time was 1hour before Nigeria. It own felt like I was just passing time in another universe as I wasn't synchronized to just an hour change. This went on until winter when the time is back Nigeria's but then the shorter days longer nights arrived with it.

So far this year, I can say that I have properly synchronized and the time feels just normal except for the weather.

It gets very cold at night and early in the morning which isn't nice at all. Also, this year has been mostly wet, like it drizzles(normal rain here grin) almost everyday since January. I guess the effect of global warming is coming strong. I won't be surprised if this year's winter isn't cold at all.

That's a bit strange , please forward the receipt and doctor's prescriptions to your insurance and ask for refund cos you should be refunded.
