Finished watching Huesca and Nwakali in particular b'cos I knew the coach will be smart enough to leave him for 90mins. Lad was very decent indeed. Apart from his pretty decent stats what impressed me most was his turns and moves on the ball. Pretty hard to take the ball off him.

Twice during the game, the La Liga Smart Bank commentary stated that Nwakali was indeed one of the most impressive performers On-field today. Lad did good. His passing very composed and neat. He will get there. Today he worked hard defensively too. With a good preseason, I expect a beast Nwakali back and better.

And to crown it all, he and Huesca winning today crowned them Champions of La Liga 2 (Spanish Segunda). His first start already landed a title. Good omen indeed. grin

More work resumes soon after. Congrats K.Nwakali... may your comeback story continue along positive lines.

Champions??

a right back is first and foremost a defender everything else he does afterwards is bonus. from the video you can see that aina was already on the move going back to defend to cover for Kenneth. As soon as he saw that Kenneth omeruo didn't win the header he doubled up his efforts to get back to track the cameroonian but you was too slow. Everybody knows that the best Fullback in the world know how 2 attack without foregoing their defensive responsibilities. For somebody that claims to have so much experience in the game I'm surprised I have to be spoon feeding you these fact.

You are just denying the obvious and evading the core question.

But then videos do not lie.

One question no long ting.

Should Omeruo have got that ball yes or no ❓ Thats where the fault is.

Aina can never be held responsible for the ineptitude of his CB who could not do basic " bread and butter" defending.

Nwakali leads Huesca to Segunda title with a scintillating performance, unsurping Cadiz, as the Segunda season comes to an end today.

Exactly but if he has no impact whatsoever in the match, I trust the ighalo haters will have the same energy towards him

Unless they don't intend to hide their hypocrisy

Meanwhile Ighalo scores when he starts cool

Insignificant players are those brought in a few minutes to the end of a match, especially when the match must have been won or lost, in such situations, their ABF style wont matter, as they serve as comic relieves. grin

Yes... Champions.

Here (below) is Nwakali with the trophy alongside the goalie and Captain.

Lad was impressive today. 7.0 overall ratings on Sofascore (not whoscored ooo...). Passing accuracy of 91.5% or so. 4 tackles. 2 interceptions. Stats were okay. But what stats won't show you is how composed he was each time he got the ball and how he used "intelligent turns" on the ball to escape his markers a few times. He just needs to keep working and I believe preseason work will bring him up to better speed in terms of his physical conditioning and overall match sharpness.

The coach today made five changes but still left Nwakali on the field to finish the game. Looks like it all paid off. They won in the end and it culminated in a title triumph with Nwakali playing a fine part.

Commentator twice had to mention him specially on how impressive he was today.

Around the 70th min, Commentator (via La Liga Smart bank TV) said something like, "Nwakali has truly been one of the impressive performers on the field today"

Even without his comment, it was obvious. His control of the huesca midfield was very noticeable. But it's not eureka. The real work continues... But this is a fine step in the right direction of progress all same. wink

Starting in a match that has no significance so insignificant players are brought in, just like Nwakali.

Hahahahahaha.... I am afraid this didn't age well. grin
Looks like everytime you now have something nasty to say about the lad (just like you had nasty things to say back then about Osimhen), something good happens to him. grin

Below is the INSIGNIFICANT player with a league title won today after putting in a fine shift of 90mins+.

The match today was a title decider and Nwakali covered himself in glory. INSIGNIFICANT indeed. Lol

They will not say anything oh!

If he had dropped a 4.0 performance, we would have read long epistles about how unserious he is and how he spent hours in a club in Aba

The same energy you use to talk down a person when he is down, use the same energy to praise him if he stands up

Hopefully, next season will be his year

You can always count on me to say it as it is. No sentiments. People’s one sided views of a player will not make me dislike the player. Today Osimhen deserves his valuation after his exploits in Ligue 1.

Tamunotonye22:

I love your point of, very direct and positive. I also expect him to do so, the Serie A is now active like the early 20s and the influx of attackers shows that they are about to take over. I remember when their were lots of Nigerians in the top clubs of series A, big step for osimhen and this should also be a challenge to the others who think playing in the Dutch league or Latvian league should be praised.

You are entitled to your opinion just like everyone else, but not when those opinions are intended to distort facts. Did he play as an AMF as you alluded in your post, or as a CMF?

Nwakali didn't play AMF today. Stop being blind and super biased. Was it not you who said Igbekeme is the best player and best MF in the Zaragoza team according to Whoscored. Till today, you haven't produced those claims. You turned tail and ran b'cos you know you made a big lie just to back your Igbekeme narrative. Now you are here again to talk nonsense about K.Nwakali's actual role on the pitch today. A game you didn't even bloody watch. Please don't speak on what you know nothing of. Merci.
