I would be able to answer ur first question

Go to IKEJA, Oba Akinjobi way, the road leading to Ikeja G.R.A & Ikeja High court.,
u will see some women with Umbrella, (some standing, some sitting down) mentioning the word AFFIDAVIT continuously. Meet one of them

Make sure u go with ur Sponsor's Passport Photograph & Yours

(The place is not far from the Popular Computer Village)

U can also check ijaiye road axis at OGBA, IKEJA , along where WAEC and NUJ (Nigerian Union of Journalism) office are located , u will also see some Women there mentioning the Word "AFFIDAVIT"

Police Character Certificate is only gotten in the Island @ Central Criminal Registry Force C.I.D. Annex Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos

Good morning all.
Please how well does Saskatchewan take Nigerians for PhD? I've written to a professor requesting to be my supervisor, but got an automatic response that she's away until next week. I was referred by the mail to other potential supervisors to contact. Should I go ahead and contact them or wait till next week and see if I can get a response?
Also, are there fundings for international students in Saskatchewan schools?

Yea they do. I personally know someone doing his PhD and another, his masters.
They got the admission with full funding.
It’s not bad to contact other potential supervisors but is their research interest in tandem with yours or somewhat similar?

Yes, you're very correct. But how do I go about the medicals please.

NwanyiOkpa:

Medicals done? Why the rush? I thought that you can get approval without medicals since current approval is in two stages.

Hello House pls I need your take on this.

On 31st March 2020, My wife applied for her study permit with our 9months old baby accompanying her. She has not done her biometrics due to the pandemic. Her school is to resume this fall, Sept 2020 (Remote classes).Due to the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic, and because she has not gotten a study permit (in principle) which is a prerequisite to joining the remote classes this September, her school advised her to defer her admission until Sept 2021. She has deferred and has gotten her deferral admission letter.

Yesterday, She got a mail from IRCC requesting for medicals for our 9months old baby only. Hers was not requested for.

Pls what does this request for medicals for my child imply? Why has my wife not gotten hers?

What is the implication of my wife's deferral should her study permit (in principle) be approved to begin remote classes this September?

Thank you all.

Hello all, I have a B.eng in Mechanical/production engineering, I want to do my masters in Canada, but I want to optimize and get more value for my money by studying a course that is in high demand in terms of job after graduation in Canada. Please anyone in Canada who knows how the system works should make suggestions for me. Thanks.

Dear House , good day
Please confirm urgently. Is document checklist form IMM 5843e utilized in online study permit application. I ask because, after completing it, I couldn't find section to attach it. I even tried to convert to another format to attach with letter of explanation but LOE shows but form will not show.
is it meant for paper application only?
If required for online application, how can I get it across as my application has gone through

It's better for you to do a course that is in line with your bachelors discipline or your work experience. You can always switch to your preferred program when you get to Canada. Mechanical Engineering is very broad, I am somewhat sure the job prospects is high in Canada for the program, especially when you have other computer aided design skills, with some programming and numerical analysis.

First thing to do is to check the schools requirements and see if your grade meets their cutoff, tuition fees, masters or PGD or PGC (depends on your CGPA), then you apply.

I'm not in Canada oh, just my 2cents, so take it or leave it.

Goodluck.

Hello ,

What u need to consider before applying for a study permit is that;

The High job demand Program u want to do, is it related to ur B.Eng Mech/Production Program or do u have a experience or training certification in it

Cos that's one of the important criteria the Visa Officer look at (Purpose of Study),

for example when a VO See's an Application of a graduate in Accounting going for a Engineering, they would easily conclude this person just want to elope to Canada with no genuine reason.

Career Progression/Work Experience progression is very important for a Canada Study Visa

Do check link below for the Trend Analysis and Job Demand of Mech. Engineering related Jobs in all provinces in Canada

https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home

Its funny lately many people are pursing programs like "Nursing" even without having a background in it, cos its in high demand and the salary package is very OK.

If u have a 2.1., pursue a Masters in Mech. Or Production related Engineering program,

If its a 2.2/3rd Class, Pursue a PGD/PGC in Mech.Prod. / Processing Engineering Program

All da best!!!

Only few persons get thesis admission by emailing one prof or applying to one school. I would advise you continue to look for other profs in other schools with similar interest as yours.

I won’t advise anyone to withdraw. Like I think have said before on this platform, due to COVID, it is highly advisable for people to defer their admission till fall 2021 if necessary. Canada take its people first before others or anything. The chances of resuming for fall 2020 are too slim.

Hi All.

For those that applied online with upfront medicals can you please advise on the order of processing stages alongside possible timelines particularly with these new approvals in principle. I noticed it is only my background check that is in progress while awaiting receipt of my biometrics. Is this normal?
