totally! a lot of religious folks do not understand that marriage existed centuries before religion - it is a survival imperative and a mutual-partnership not a slave-contract - a man has his duties and responsibilities and a woman has hers. I am very concerned with the author's attempt to form public perception by including stories that could have been made up. His premise was of Nigerians killing their wives in the US but you can see that the stories he lifted and changed their names were stories of Kenyans in Germany. I have dug deep and still can't find the original news stories.

The one of Azubuike is particularly annoying. I have searched criminal databases for Texas with the name and came up empty. Would like to see the actual story to know that it's true and also free of embellishments. The writer is pushing an agenda that doesn't sit well with me.

Quite sad about these stories. However, to help you answer the above. These men left Nigeria to the U.S, on getting there, there was no time for school because no money. So, they went straight to hustle.com. They started working and hustling. when the money started rolling in, they went straight for a house. Now, when you start paying the mortgage, you don't wanna stop working to go to school, so, they hustle for 10-18 (depending) years of their lives to pay fully for a house, get their citizenship or PR. By then, they are in their 40s, no time for school again. Also, not everyone likes nursing. When you have spent years of your life to hustle, help your spouse to the U.S, the best thing is to equip her so that she doesn't hustle hard like you did. You sponsor her to school and all other expenses, then upon graduation and finding a good job, i believe that such women should help the family and ease the man's financial burden, alas..............the rest is history.
