Hello great people,

Please, I have already submitted my study permit application. I plan on doing medicals although I haven't been given a go ahead from my portal.

Please, my question is, after I carry out the medical test how will it be uploaded to my portal, or will I just need to wait till I get a go ahead in my portal?

I'll sincerely appreciate if someone can help me out here

once you are done with your upfront medical you would send the copy the clinic gives you through a webform ..... the clinic would be the one to also send your results to IRCC.

Nice one.. Meaning booking makes no difference sef... Meanwhile, is she self sponsored? Masters or PGC? Course relationship with first degree right or work experience?

Yes.

the challenge sef is that i did upfront medicals so wondering why I am being asked to go do medicals, almost like they didnt get the result from qlife. also is it normal for 3 stages to be ongoing at the same time:background check, eligibility(just changed today)and then request for medicals.usually isnt the request after both stages have been completed.this new 2 approval stages is bringing in a lot of ? in terms of being able to ascertain next steps.

Found this online so slightly worried:

I am currently on F1 in the US but transiting to Canada. I completed and submitted my application lastweek Friday, on Saturday, I received biometrics letter. Most VACs just opened here in the US on 20th and the rest will, on the 27th. Medical is not required. So, I will be taking biometrics nextweek.

May all these end in praise for everyone on this forum, and may this 2020 make it a dream come through for you, just as God did it for me to the US late last year. By the way, I have only done a semester in US grin.

I think you made a smart decision because Mr Trump is ready to turn US immigration to UK post-2012.

US was actually the first country on my radar when I began the whole study abroad thing. I did GRE and TOEFL in 2015, carefully observed US election, and read everything about immigration after school in US. That was when I knew about the clumsiness of the US system Vs Canada merit based system. I also predicted Trump was really going be more stringent with immigration because that was his main campaign line. I knew US was no go area for me when he won.

I abandoned my GRE and TOEFL results and focused on Canada. I failed at my first trial, September 2016, but got admission with scholarship for September 2017. Amazingly, I used to work experience between 2016 and 2017 to immigrate to Canada in the same 2017 after resuming as an international student in September of the same year.

Some might wonder why I am back. I came back to update my knowledge and encourage as many as I can. This is the platform where I learnt everything about studying or immigrating to Canada. Someone on this platform came to pick me at airport on arrival in Canada. Someone on this platform paid one of my school application fee without collecting it back from me. Funny enough, na the school, University of Calgary, kon give me admission after trying for two years of and applying to like eight schools. I also lived with another elder on this platform for more than a year. I met him at a graduation party and we were shocked when I mentioned his Nairaland name. All I needed was a small story about his contributions here. I read this thread sotey I could know former main contributors off-hand. I’ve had little horrible experiences, but Nairaland has been generally good to me. Hahaha.

I hope my story encourages someone who is struggling with getting supervisor or admission with scholarship. If money is everything, I won’t be here. I just refused to let money or some failure stop me. Keep pushing everyone, your Canadian dream will be a reality soon.

I am learning from everyone. Study visa decision style have changed significantly since 2017. Kenyan style seems different from the Ghanaian style we faced then. I wish you all the best in your application.

Unfortunately IRCC or CIC have their own mind and their own ways.
Their ways cannot be explained at all. grin

Rather than worry your head about why IRCC is acting the way they act, try to channel the energy into the things you can do at the moment to make your application fast (such as sending emails, updating your application with new info if you have any or if need be, keeping the school abreast of your situation and exploring other possible options they have).

So, send an email to the office attending to your application (infact add other IRCC offices that serve Africa), asking for update on your application, and tell them the reason for asking and why it is urgent you know what is happening.

Also contact your school on other possible options such as deferring to next term.

However bear in mind that you may not be able to attend school this fall. Key word is MAY.
At this rate, we know you cannot meet the deadline date even if you get a PPR this night.

You will need to send it for counterfoil... that takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks to get back.
Then your travel plans and preparations...(airports are still closed so entails more logistics to get out of Nigeria)

Still keep your hopes up... and fingers crossed you get feedback (a positive one) from IRCC soon.

Shalom.

oma22:

But how have they concluded eligibility review for people who applied in June and yet people like me that applied since March 8, got my medical request in April. Did and passed the medicals in May. Yet nothing. And my school resumes September 8 and just emailed me that I will be provided letter to show at my home country border and Canadian border to enable me cross.

They will also provide 2 weeks quarantine plan including airport pickup, accommodation, food, etc for $800. They also said I have to make it to Canada before August.

So I wonder why they are so fast with people who don’t have a complete application and a lot of people with complete application are still hanging.

August 15 is approximately 3 weeks from now.
