So, I was chatting with one of my female friends today, and she seemed very angry... Upon enquirying the cause, she told me her pastor just told her that her "Fiancee" is not the right man and that God didn't destine the two of them to be together as husband and wife. I tried telling her that she should not listen to what the man of God is saying. The only thing I think that matters in a relationship or marriage is love, mutual understanding and fear of God. Her fiancee has money, and is well-to-do. He takes good care of her and "LOVES" her too. So, I want to ask Romancelanders: CAN YOU ALLOW YOUR RELIGIOUS LEADER DECIDE WHO YOU WANT TO MARRY? I will appreciate if you give reasons for your answer so that we can learn from each other |

Absolutely no! These so termed men of God push the boundaries of their influence on their flock. It's simply preposterous that seemly educated and enlightened individuals cannot make decisions without consulting such men of God. Some people go far as engaging the services of spiritualists some of whom are actually charlatans. People should step on this apparent influence that's been wielded over them by the pastor's. 2 Likes |

In all things, I like to believe that NO PASTOR HAS A MONOPOLISTIC ACCESS TO GOD. I'd rather pray to God and hear him (in whatever way he speaks to me PERSONALLY) to inform my decision; than to submit my life to another man to consult God on my behalf. Even the bible says "....Who is blind, but my servant" Thing is seeking Parental/Religious leader's approval is only secondary to what truly makes or mar a marriage. 1 Like |

 Interesting.Good day, Nairalanders, guests, co commentator, panel of moderators, supermode and my fellow romancelander. My monika is professorcplus. I am here to oppose the notion which is" YOUR RELIGIOUS LEADER CAN DECIDE WHO YOU WANT TO MARRY" with my following points. According to the Holy book, there's no where God told Someone this is your wife, right from Adam, to Jacob, to Joseph, to Isaac, to David, to Solomon. They all went to search for what they want in a woman. Even the greatest plan God have for mankind which was Jesus Christ, God never told Joseph this is your wife Mary; marry her. So if any religious con men should tell you God reveal who you want to marry, detest if it's against your will. Is it God that want to marry her? Secondly, marriage is more of canal than spiritual. It's physical attraction first if we don't want to get deceived. Sadly, people seek for spirituality or visions for future spouses. If we dont seek spiritual assistance from some con men to make daily friendship then why do you need them to get your life spouse? No wonder more of marriages build on spiritual/vision usually ends in divorce. Lastly, it will be hard to break any relationship that is been backed up by most religious chalant because many wont support the idea of divorce even when one of the spouse is been violated. You either die in the marriage than divorce to live afterall, God hates divorce. I hope with this few point of mine, I have been able to convince you and not confuse you. Thanks |

Stephenomozzy has said it all.. Man of God can only intercede to attract God's direction for me. God will surely speak and reveal to me. Its a personal assessment.. "One thing have I desired of the Lord is to enquire in His temple all the days of my life." DO NOT JOKE WITH GOD'S DIRECTION AS A FAITH PRACTITIONER IN CHRIST JESUS..
