I was able to see this HSL Broker. I earlier contracted him to do additional windows for me as I opened up more walls in my house for windows. I paid for everything but could not hear from him. My thought was that the guy had ran away with my money. We were able to track him and found out that he was in an isolation center with Corona virus and sick. I had earlier written bad things about him on his thread in nairaland. I felt pity for him. I had to pull them down again.

It is not in my character to spoil people's business. I had to delete all the things I said about him. I told him that he should have carried me along if he was taken to the isolation center by Governor Wike's COVID-19 task force, but he said he lost his phone at the center and couldn't replace it at that time because of money since he was not able to go out.

The good thing was that he referred us to the location where my work was going on and we went there and I saw the whole windows almost completed. My perception of him changed. I don't know if this is his character as I haven't heard any bad thing about him before this incident. Also let it be that the client is not the one failing to abide by the terms of the contract. I am an independent consultant and I deal with clients that are too difficult to work with, always raising issue. Even before this my issue with him, I held back before making my conclusion to avoid crucifying an innocent person. When I mentioned that I paid a popular nairalander here for a window without the job being delivered, people ask me for his moniker. I didn't provide it as I wanted to be sure of the intent of the guy as I wouldn't be able to sleep if I label false accusation on someone.

The good thing is that he had delivered on the job given to him

Yes, we opened up additional large wall openings for windows. I so much love windows. One of the windows measured from one pillar to another of the room but na sliding window o. I like to have natural light penetrate inside rather than having the inside to be dark. Also better ventilation.

Just as predicted. I know you dont owe him or anyone here any explanation or review about the said guy. I dont know him personally, other than I've recently referred a subordinate at work to him recently.
Sir, in as much as this can be true, the hslbroker guy didn't manage the situation properly. He wasnt sick when the money was being transferred into his account. Then, why didn't he return their money or directed them to where their materials were, if he had procured them?
I directed somebody to contact him via his WhatsApp number that was copied on his thread and he responded well, the guy would have probably contacted him to seal a deal with him, after this Eid holiday if not for this thing that pop up.
He has been persistently seeing the allegations against him here and some of his close associates here would have probably contacted him to ask him questions. He really shouldn't hinge his refusal to do the appropriate thing on those flimsy excuses.
He lost his fone but he has been having access to Nairaland abi? 3m no be beans abeg.
I think he has lost his reputation here, if he had any ab initio and any attempt to salvage his already dent reputation should be discouraged. His next victim may be someone dearie to you Sir.

Please no body contacted me to launder any image, neither am I here to hold briefs for anybody. I gave my story and that is it. If you feel that you people have an unfinished business, get across to him. I got back to him and saw that my work had progressed against my initial thought.

Please follow up with him if you have any issue. My thinking is that this kind of things are common with artisans.

The size and type of paint determines. Is it screeded and what type of paint do you want to use. A measurement would also help.

I might not be so accurate about the size, but would love to have those areas of the seating room that's not gonna be with wall paper screeded.

As for type of paint, since am intending to try to manage cost I'd say the other part of the living room should be satin. While i would go with your advice on how to try to have all cost less. The bed rooms and living room aren't big.

Would have loved to, unfortunately I don't have a team. I source for artisans when need arises.

350pieces of plank? Na wa o. Could it be your design? I used 50 and my house is about 240sqm. Even the number of bamboo, rods. HaaWorkmanship is too high for all the workers. I did mine in June in Benin as well and didn't spend anything close to this.

I was able to drive down parapet cost in three of my builds by investing in parapet concrete mold.
It became a lot more interesting when we had to do a structural modification on a house. We were able to pull the roof and introduce a parapet without damaging the POP ceilings in the house.

It’s the next best thing to the aluminum parapet which is very scarce now.

To Avoid problems do the parapet, wood work n roofing in nearest interval. Not too long. I have seen a problem like DT in Ikate. Since qualitative work is not sure. I even have a house I want roof in Ikorodu now and some part of the parapet is like falling and has not taken long time.

Don't even risk that with pre-cast fixing type.

Too bad that half way into the year, we still face uncertainties about 2020 especially in DIASPORA. And as a result, I might not complete my planned roofing of my 6 bedroom duplex this year.
The question is:
Could I do the parapet now and then the roofing next year?
For how long can i leave the parapet bare and exposed?
Could 10 days be enough to do the parapet and then the roofing if they must be done together?
Materials are no problem as a pal who owes me a favour is providing them from his shop.

You're indeed a saviour. Even though am disappointed for not getting any input by some other prominent commentators, engineers and building professionals on this thread. Block laying and setting is presently ongoing on the lintel and work would stop here until am present for parapet and roofing. Certainly a pre cast parapet is not on my list.

WHY not contact your clients

A single post here on nairaland would have been a starter. Why wait until people are upset ,outraged , kicking up dust before you open up? In as much as this individual have stuff going on in their lives, so are the clients and suppliers ( as the case might be).. if someone took out a loan to take care of a project or robbed Peter to pay paul hoping to quickly finish up their build and raise money from rent to pay back the loan, how would that be fair to these clients and suppliers

I went to draw debt one time from a guy owing me, we even live in different countries. On arrival, tracked him down at the club, dude was not even the bouncer, a bouncers P.A !! Followed him to his house , was living in a filthy neighborhood , I was asking him what happened... then there comes the story........ my annoyance was, why did you not tell me, hey brah I fell into bad times at the moment bla bla bla.. why do I have to travel all the way here for you to tell me this now the money have climbed up.
