Hello everyone. I'm glad to see this thread active like it used to be. I hope everyone succeeds in their endeavors.
This is to the medical students and doctors. I just completed my first MB exam and my school doesn't have full accreditation yet, I'd like to know if there's a school I can transfer to outside Nigeria to continue my clinicals. I have been home for more than a year now since my first MB. I'd appreciate your responses. I really need this. Thanks.

You would have to be Specific with what you mean by "Outside Nigeria"
Is it to other African Countries,Europe,US,Asian countries.

Why not Transfer to any other Nigerian University.

Well if you should consider nursing inferior then it's a matter of your own personal perspective and not what it appears to be.

However, if you're not OK with studying nursing or any other health related courses in AAU then you can try other institutions as it takes only passion for a course to withstand academic hurdles.

I grasp ehn you mean the science aspect side? Feel free to change institution just 2670(2500 jamb fee) 170 service fee. Remember medicine is disease centred ALLOPATHY and Nursing is patient care centred. Your Choice.

In Nigeria there are only three courses mostly found in Clinical Sciences which are; Nursing, Dentistry,Medicine and Physiotherapy.
If you feel you want something different and you would not want to regret what you did, it is simply up to you and it is your decision.
The problem is that you will have problem with Doctors if you feel like having one.
My prayer for some people here who might not make medicine is to have self confidence . Don't join the band wagon of fighting doctors.
It is a wrong narrative that there is a lot of money in the health field. The advantage is that you can do it for a long time.
You can pick radiography, optometry, medical laboratory science and physiotherapy. I am against biochemistry, microbiology ,Anatomy and physiology, if you feel like you don't love them and you see them as a last resource it will have its damages, although you can come to love it and go into academics it is more rewarding.
Good luck

Your Advice is Apt. Though i believe you Defined Clinical courses based on the School you are right? Well that is not even an issue anyways.
Just Like you said, any Medical Related courses are all good. But please and please, if you really Love Medicine, do not Make the Mistake of choosing anything short of Medicine inorder to avoid unnecessary bickering. We need peace to reign in the Health Sector.

Since you had first degree, why didn't you use DE?
aboking:
I started medicine and surgery at the age of 35yrs after first degree and it wasn't through DE but utme and today am doing very well. Age should be the last thing for you to consider when you are determine to do something

aboking:
Be focused and forget the number of students in your class, I'm a medical student of AAU too and to be honest with you I enjoy the competition because it makes me go extra miles in my reading. Tell yourself as from today that you are a medical student as you are in first year now, read hard and success will be yours.
