Questions About Jehovah's Witnesses by DappaD: 2:41pm On Aug 01, 2020
So there are many people out there who have misconceptions about Jehovah's Witnesses. I created this thread to address the questions of those with the wrong understanding.
Jehovah's Witnesses strive to please and honour their heavenly Father Jehovah and to imitate Jesus' way of life. On that note, there are a lot of things that the Bible condemns which people today practice and so they ignore Bible's advice and as such they hate Jehovah's Witnesses for adhering to Bible standards strictly. (John 15:19,20; 2Timothy 3:16)

Are there any questions you'd like to ask concerning the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses?
Feel free to ask and get Bible based answers.

Yeah

1) why don’t you guys accept blood transfusions
2) why do you guys keep walking into peoples’ home and try and proselytise them to listen to the gospel.
3) why would you guys deny evolution and accept creationism, even though there’s no evidence to support your creationism

Okay. Thank you for your questions.

1. The Bible which we view as inspired words of God prohibits true Christians from consuming blood in any form. (Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:11,12, Deuteronomy 12:23, Acts 15:28,29)
Jehovah is the source of life(Psalm 36:9) so we wouldn't want to do anything that goes against God's word. (Matthew 16:25)

2. Because we were given specific instructions by Jesus to preach and teach the good news of God's Kingdom and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 24:14, 28:19,20). Jehovah's will is for everyone to be saved and have an accurate knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2:4, 2Peter 3:9). We have genuine love for people that's why we're always out there preaching this life-saving good news as the only way to gain everlasting life(John 3:16, 36, 17:3, Romans 6:23)

3. a. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in evolution. We believe that Jehovah God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 33:6, 102:25, Revelation 4:11)
Jehovah created the earth for a purpose — for humans to enjoy everlasting and satisfying life on it (Psalm 37:11,29, 115:16, Isaiah 45:18). And so the earth didn't just come about by mistake or evolution, it was created with a purpose.

b. Jehovah's Witnesses believe the heavens and the earth were created by Jehovah God but they are not like most creationists. Get your facts right. Most creationists are people who believe the earth and everything in it was created in 6 literal days. However the Bible doesn't support that conclusion. The “day” in Genesis 1 refer to unspecified periods of time between one event and another.

You've already started the argument.

Instead of ignoring people, it's better you pull down the thread first.

Emusan : If truly Jehovah is your Heavenly Father, why are you not His child rather than calling yourself friend of Jehovah?

DappaD : Can't someone be a friend to his father?
Jehovah is our Father because he created us (Isaiah 64:8 ) .
We are also friends of Father Jehovah because we genuinely love him and obey his commandments. (1John 5:3)
Take Abraham for example, he was called a friend of his Father Jehovah because he listened and obeyed Jehovah — Genesis 15:6, 22:18, Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23.

Emusan :

DappaD : Context must be taken into consideration.
At John 6:53-55, Jesus wasn't talking about them eating his flesh and drinking his blood literally. He wasn't even talking about the Lord's evening meal. He was simply explaining that for anyone to have everlasting life, that person must exercise faith in the sacrifice that he made when he offered up his perfect human body(which represents the flesh) and poured out his lifeblood(which represents the blood).

Emusan : You've already started the argument.

Yeah

1) Why don’t you guys accept blood transfusions

It's not safe!
Most times in the past medical personnels have come up with different forms of treatment since they're regarded as experts in the field, but in reality their motto says "we care but God heals", this means the ultimate knowledge on health doesn't belong to them. So whether they believe in God or not, they already admitted that they can only care not cure. Therefore Jehovah's Witnesses believe it doesn't sound reasonable if we should fully trust in their form of treatment, that means a patient has the right to choose whether to be cared for by these people who already admitted they're not certain of the result or give in to their trial. Jehovah's Witnesses know our right so once we have a knowledge of the form of treatment the medical personnels want to give and it's not safe for us we will tell them to use an alternative means!

2) why do you guys keep walking into peoples’ home and try and proselytise them to listen to the gospel.
There are so many religious groups claiming worshipers of God, we have noticed that instead of making the world a peaceful place and friendly environment for everyone, false religions became an instrument in the hands of greedy politicians to divide people and draw gullible people after them, this has resulted in the killing of millions of people for centuries. So we went back to make a thorough research on the book Bible, perhaps it's just a piece of shit or there is something worth considering in it. So far so good, we found out that the book promised a time when the earth will be filled with peace loving and caring people.
Could this be possible? Jehovah's Witnesses realized that the young Jewish carpenter named Jesus who was assassinated in the first century has some ideas that can benefit us, we put the things he taught to good use and today, we are able to gather over 9,000,000 people from different races on the planet who have vowed never to take up weapons against their fellowman for any reason whatsoever, so we agreed with the teachings of Jesus that a world without crime is possible if we work together as one big family. That's what we are going to tell our neighbours perhaps they'll like to contribute their quota to the peace making program!

3) Why would you guys deny evolution and accept creationism, even though there’s no evidence to support your creationism

We haven't seen any positive result the theory of Evolution has brought to humanity, though those who agreed with the concept are increasing but what exactly have they achieved apart from complaining about the problems we are all facing?
Evolutionists can't come together to make peace reign amongst them just as Jesus' true followers (Jehovah's Witnesses) have done in all the countries where you can find them!
So as right thinking persons, we just don't argue to establish points but make it work so that everyone can see the BENEFITS of what we're saying! smiley

NOTE: Don't put that dot(.) in the first & last quote

DappaD:
Can't someone be a friend to his father?
Jehovah is our Father because he created us (Isaiah 64:8 )

OK

We are also friends of Father Jehovah because we genuinely love him and obey his commandments. (1John 5:3)

The verse you quoted doesn't correlate with your statement.

Take Abraham for example, he was called a friend of his Father Jehovah because he listened and obeyed Jehovah — Genesis 15:6, 22:18, Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23.

The key phrase is what I underlined...

Abraham was CALLED not that Abraham claimed to be friend of God.

What Christians are to be CALLED is Child of God John 1:12

By the way, those your anointed persons who are children of God means they are not obeying and listening to Jehovah, that's why they are only children of God and not friends of Jehovah.

Context must be taken into consideration.

He was simply explaining that for anyone to have everlasting life, that person must exercise faith in the sacrifice that he made when he offered up his perfect human body(which represents the flesh) and poured out his lifeblood(which represents the blood).

The @underlined is enough to show everyone that you really lack scriptural understanding.

This is what your own organization says "The unleavened bread and red wine served at the Memorial are emblems, or symbols, of Christ’s flesh and blood. They are not miraculously changed into or mixed with his literal flesh and blood, as some feel."

So if Christ had said ""53... “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Definitely, you have no life in you and Christ won't resurrect you on the last day.

Enough with this spiteful attitude of yours and just ask your questions.

Enough of your ignorance by claiming you don't want to argue when you're started doing that.

Enough of your ignorance by claiming you don't want to argue when you're started doing that.
I said I wasn't going to continue in arguments and I meant it. This is my last reply to you on this matter.

Abraham didn't claim to be God's friend. Jehovah God himself called Abraham his friend — Isaiah 41:8

As for who partakes in the Lord's Evening meal, again, the Bible, it's message and context is to be understood.
Jehovah for his part, had a covenant with ancient Israel (Exodus 19:5,6) and he made them into a nation of priests as at then.
Jesus in the same way made a covenant with his disciples and other anointed Christians for them to rule as kings and priests in God's Kingdom over the whole earth. (Luke 22:29, 1Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:6, 5:9,10, 20:6) .
These anointed Christians have the seal of God on their foreheads and they make up a spiritual Israel which number a total of 144,000(Revelation 7:4-8 ) . They are the only ones who will go to heaven to rule as kings and priests over the earth (Revelation 20:6). Jesus himself called the ones to rule in God's Kingdom ‘little flock’ so it is only rightly so that they number an actual 144,000(Luke 12:32, 22:28-30, Hebrews 12:28, Revelation 1:6, 5:9,10, 7:4-8, 14:1-3)

Why do JWs accept and get transfused with blood fractions they don't DONATE?

Did Jehovah asks JWs to accept blood fractions not donated by JWs?

Are JWs hypocrites when they collect blood fractions donated by Christendom?

What's the difference between blood components and blood fractions?

Are blood fractions components of blood?

What's the difference between blood components and blood fractions?

Words in italics show you're looking for an argument. So I'll ignore.

Words in bold however are good questions.
Jehovah's Witnesses will NOT accept blood in whole or any of its four major components — red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, platelets.

However there are minor blood fractions which just act as antibodies in the blood and so no longer represent the life of the human being when considered, such include immunoglobulins and albumin. So a Christian can decide to reject these minor fractions or accept them since it no longer represents the life of the human being based on Bible trained conscience.
Jehovah's Witnesses can also accept nonblood volume expanders and other bloodless alternatives available.

Besides, transfusion of blood or its major components isn't a guarantee of life after going through the process, as the person still stands a chance to get more complications for himself or even die — so that's why Jehovah's Witnesses heed Bible advice to “abstain from blood” – Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:11,12, Deuteronomy 12:23, Acts 15:28,29.

Consider a man who is told by his doctors that he must abstain from meat. Would he be obedient if he quit eating meat, but accepted a kidney transplant?”

Is eating meat same as accepting organ transplant?

Is eating of blood (forbidding in the bible) the same as accepting blood transfusion not forbidden in the bible?

rottennaija : In the issue of blood transfusion, why does your religion accept organ transplant but reject blood transfusion?

DappaD : Jehovah's Witnesses do not intend to go beyond what is written in the Scriptures. The Bible specifically said not to consume blood in any form — Acts 15:28,29.
But the Bible doesn't comment on organ transplants, it's left to the person's conscience — so if an individual wants to undergo such an operation, the blood in the organs and tissues to be transplanted would be drained out.

rottennaija : It is a well know fact that the Bible does not forbid blood transfusion but forbids the eating of blood. Now, where does the bible forbid the transfusion of blood fractions but allows the transfusion of haemoglobin?

DappaD : Look at it this way, if one cannot process food through the mouth and instead has a drip attached to him to provide him food nutrients, isn't it the same thing as just eating to sustain yourself? Of course it is. That's why Jehovah's Witnesses will not consume blood by mouth or take it into their body by any means to sustain themselves.

rottennaija :

You've not understood me. Jehovah's Witnesses will not accept whole blood or any of its major components – red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets or plasma.
There are fractions in the blood that act as antibodies such as albumin, these no longer represent the life of a human being so it's left to the person in question to either accept or reject these minor fractions.

But the Bible doesn't comment on organ transplants, it's left to the person's conscience — so if an individual wants to undergo such an operation, the blood in the organs and tissues to be transplanted would be drained out.

The bible specifically condemns blood in specific form of eating of blood. The concept of blood transfusion to save a life didn't exist then. The command at Acts 15:28,29 is very specific with the eating of blood. To claim that the Bible "specifically said not to consume blood in any form" is false and wrong.

The bible says nothing of organ transplant, but it condemns cannibalism. And yet, blood transfusion is an organ transplant because it is the transfusion of blood tissues.

As cardiovascular surgeon Denton Cooley notes: ‘A blood transfusion is an organ transplant...’” (Awake! Oct. 22, 1990, p. 9).”

“When doctors transplant a heart, a liver, or another organ, the recipient’s immune system may sense the foreign tissue and reject it. Yet, a transfusion is a tissue transplant…” (How can Blood Save Your Life, 1990, p. cool

So if the bible condemns cannibalism, why should it be right to accept organ transplant?

DappaD:

rottennaija : It is a well know fact that the Bible does not forbid blood transfusion but forbids the eating of blood.

In the above, you compare blood transfusion to eating of blood. That's how you draw the analogy but you know the bible doesn't condemn eating of blood.

Now, concerning your analogy,

Consider a man who is told by his doctors that he must abstain from meat. Would he be obedient if he quit eating meat, but accepted a kidney transplant?”

Is eating meat same as accepting organ transplant?

Is eating of blood (forbidding in the bible) the same as accepting blood transfusion not forbidden in the bible?

DappaD:

You've not understood me. Jehovah's Witnesses will not accept whole blood or any of its major components – red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets or plasma.

There are fractions in the blood that act as antibodies such as albumin, these no longer represent the life of a human being so it's left to the person in question to either accept or reject these minor fractions.

Let assume the bible forbid blood transfusion, which it doesn't. Does the bible make any distinction between whole blood and blood fraction?

Does not making such distinction going beyond the things that are written?

Does the bible forbid the giving of blood so that these fractions can be separated out?

you didn't answer my question. And no fewer hospitals are going for bloodless techniques compared to blood transfusions.
Okay sir. I guess we'll just leave it at that.
Note that I'm not trying to convince you here to do anything, I'm just stating the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses as regards the Bible.
So what you may feel is right isn't of concern to us, thank you and have a good day sir.

Okay. Most people have misconceptions about Jehovah's Witnesses and the essence of this thread is to address questions people may have about JW's. Once I give an answer, I leave it at that so it doesn't brew into an argument.
Thank you and have a good day sir! smiley

These questions are different from the first and I still have more to ask. Why not just respond to it so we can move the the next one.
