Check this

This asks about previous Schengen visa applications, not about refusals.

Where it requests for the number of any previous visa issued, one might have lost a previous passport with a visa sticker, or otherwise be unable to provide it.
It could be construed as a very indirect way of eliciting information as to a previous refusal, but if so, its unnecessary, because of course all applicants are automatically checked in the VIS database and they can immediately find out about an applicant's Schengen visa history if any.

The Schengen visa form does not ask about previous refusals of either Schengen visas or those of any other country.

Hello House,
Please I need assistance. I am a first time applicant for a German visa. My sister is inviting me.
1)Can I be interviewed in Abuja as I live in Abuja?
2)My children are American citizens please would they need to appear for an interview as well at the German embassy?
3)I have checked in the website but still seem a lil lost.
Please kindly drop possible responses. God bless you all

The information on the embassy's website is clear. You must come to Lagos to apply if you are not undertaking an official trip or applying for a transit visa. You have to book an appointment first.

U.S. passport holders do not need a visa to enter the Schengen area for stays of up to 90 days, so your children do not need to appear.

Hello all,

I want to invite my mum over for omugwo, as my girlfriend will be giving birth very soon here in Germany. Now I want to ask if i apply for a schengen visit visa for say 2 weeks. Is it likely they issue her the standard 90days visa or they will give her the number of days she claim She wants to spend.

I already got a guarantor's form from the Aliens authority in my City, and on this form is written that my mom can stay for a duration of 90 days but my fear is the german embassy in Nigeria might not give her up to 90 days as she has claimed in her application that she only wants to spend 2 weeks.

What can I do to secure a longer duration cos I heard they sometimes give 10days, 21 days etc and not 90 days which is standard. And I'm afraid if she tells them she's coming for omugwo, they might reject.

You pay in cash to your interviewer on the interview date.
Currently 31,500 naira for tourist/business and other "C" visas.
Need your advice.
I got invited for a student conference in june.
I don't have a passport yet and I plan to apply this month.
If I could get my passport in March, is it too late to apply for Visa?

There's no "standard 90 days Schengen visa" unfortunately.
You put in a travel plan and they issue a visa for the number of days they decide.

Holders of multiple - entry visas can spend up to 90 days in a 6 month period in the Schengen zone, but it will be difficult for a Nigerian passport holder on a single-entry visa to be given that amount of time to stay.

Has your mother travelled to Germany before? If she has, you can ask for a longer period than 2 weeks.
If this is her first time, advisable to keep it below a month, depending on your mother's circumstances in Nigeria (is she retired, or a housewife, or otherwise has time on her hands?).

Definitely do not mention omugwo (coming to care for a newborn child), as that could be seen as taking up employment. Let her simply state she's coming to visit you and meet her new grandchild, that's a solid enough purpose of travel.

No its not, with the new Schengen Visa Code, you can now apply anytime up to 6 months before your travel date, unlike the previous 3 month limit. The outer limit is 15 days before your travel date.

Book your appointment once you have a passport.

If it’s her first schengen visa they’d most likely issue exactly what she applied for. Even if it’s not her first, it’s not guaranteed that she’d get an extended validity either. So have that at the back of your mind. If she’s retired, you might as well just input 30 days as the duration of stay. There’s no issue.

I would like to make enquires, a Friend of mine is pregnant and her aunty would like to come for 3months to help her with taking of the baby. Also the aunty is federal worker but she is afraid that if she stated 3months in the application, she might not given the visa. Also the aunty will state that she will take care of herself during therefore it doesn't require guarantors form! What are the things to be done, to be on the safer side. Thanks

A friend of mine applied for visa but got rejected due to the following reasons

1. There are reasonable doubts about your intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa.

2. The purpose and circumstances of the intended stay have been insufficiently demonstrated

Should he Appeal or How would he solve this issue on his next application??

What is it with getting a schengen visa? Can we still travel since EU has closed boarders to non-EU countries?

If your app is not a complicated case, Germany usually responds within 8 days. All my 3 visas from Germany have been issued in exactly 7 days. So, it’s not a bad sign.

In place of your employment letter/reference, you'd submit your company registration documents and tax clearance. Everything else stays the same.

Is tax clearance certificate compulsory?

I have a company bank account which I'm paying myself income salary every month, Can I use my personal saving account that shows my monthly income every month from my company account to apply?

Is it personal income tax I will apply for from Lirs ?

My lastly questions
Please is Germany have a third party that collect visa application like VFS or we will go to their consulate embassy ?

Are they open for tourist now?

Hello All,

Please I need your suggestion.

My wife recently put to bed, and I want my mother in-law to come for Omugwo.

I Intend for her to stay for at least 80days.

I have gotten the sponsorship letter from my foreign office.

She currently works with the state government.

Do you think they would issue her a visa for that length?

Which suggestions can anyone offer, to avoid visa denial.

Please when booking appointment online for a family of 3 visit. Will only my appointment cover for the 3 of us or I will have to book separate appointment for each applicant? Because the submission time may not be the same.

Each applicant needs their separate appointment.

You need to book the appointment separately

I hope this is not too late

Good morning all. My dad wants to travel and I want to get things ready for him. I've printed the checklist, some documents have "NO COPIES" beside it, though at the beginning, the rule is *original + 1 copy* . What should I do?
