An innocent dog helped a certain people, instead of being grateful, they betrayed the innocent dog and conspire to slaughter the dog.
But, God in his infinite mercy, turned the innocent dog to a stone. That's how they started serving the dog.

You're welcome .
And the dog spoke to them... Ur seeming to forget that part

So you decided to ostracize dogs from your domain as a sign of appreciation abi?
That is why the blackman should never hold any tradition as sacred without proper evaluation. Most of our ancestors where pure evil.

Thank you.
But dogs were meant to eat bones or was the dog expecting a royal apparel because it killed a bush rat? They should not worship the stone because the dog rebelled against it's master.
Na poor man dey give his dogs bone to eat. They deserve balanced diet food as well as any other creature on the surface of this mud we call Earth.

Its coding or allegory they aren't talking about dogs. The Oba made an offense that the Alafin summoned him about more than likely being a bad king to his people or groups not his people yet lived in the area under his authority. The entire cabinet went to see the Alafin including some slaves who they treated like dogs. One of the slaves/dog was wise and he cured the Alafins daughter the princess so this made the Alafin forgive the entire offense. Yet when they returned they continued to treat the slaves like dogs and when they expected a reward for helping their troubles they chased them away. The attitude of their people reflected the rulers they too dogged out the slaves. This made the slaves heart turn hard as stone. Regretting their behavior they create ritual for remembrance for always being grateful to anyone. These are Yorubas they are very educated they don't worship dogs and stones yet they did own other groups as slaves. Yet with most groups that owned slaves they are too lazy to work and develop their town. This is all what they inherited from their father's and are seeking redemption now.

To he who asks it shall be given.

Looks like hogwash to me.
Hogwash, but you believed it when they said a pig helped a certain thirsty mother and kid when all hope was lost
up till this moment, headslammers don't rear, keep or eat pork.
