Norinco made the delivery of containers carrying the missiles to foreign clients as of Wednesday, before the scheduled shipment date,” said a March 25 statement by the company released on its WeChat account, Chinese media reported today.

It was the first time a third-generation anti-tank weapon system developed by the Chinese company has been exported, according to the statement.

“As the client was in urgent need of the missiles,” the successful delivery had significant meaning for establishing Norinco's market position and further opening up the market, the statement said. The company did not disclose the name of the buyer, the quantity purchased and the value of the deal.

It's not about toju, its the way the person that claimed Nigeria has Hj 12 , started shouting it's for Nigeria, even when the article merely said an African country and to a lesser extent, the way people started believed him, even when the news article didnt mention Nigeria. Sounds like pastors , gullible congregations claim it mindset to me.

The same mindset comes to play again with aradu.... that aradu is undergoing sea trials, aradu was clearly towed by tug boats,no proof to show she's under her own power, because the pastor says it's TRUE, the flock too started commenting aradu out of dock for sea trials, weapons removed even when missile magazine and weapons are visible , and to them it's the biblical truth......this our pastor and followers mentality, with the lack of ability to verify information won't kill us

I wonder why some media claim Nigeria ordered the H-12E ATGM while no such announcement was done by NORINCO.

"Norinco, which made the announcement via its WeChat account last month as reported by Jane's, did not provide any details of the contract value, the identity of the customer or even the number of systems that were exported. However, this marked the first export of the third-generation Chinese .."

How FG Wasted Multi-Billion Naira Maritime Security Platform Patrol Boats

The federal government may have wasted over N34billion worth of 25 patrol boats purchased by Global West Vessel Specialists Limited (GWVSL) for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for the fight against piracy on Nigeria’s waterways. NIMASA had in 2012 signed a contract with Global West, a company linked to ex-Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemukpolo, Elias Tompolo, for the supply of military patrol boats to boost NIMASA’s maritime security arrangement with the Nigerian Navy.

But on coming to power in May 2015, the present government of President Muhamadu Buhari cancelled the contract, and through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), arrested the former NIMASA director-general, Patrick Akpobolekemi, who awarded the contract with some of his staff, and instituted a case against them and Global West Specialists Limited.

The case that was filed at a Federal High Court in Lagos in 2016 lasted for over four years but was only recently determined. Before the contract was cancelled, Global West had supplied 25 sophisticated bullet-proof patrol boats which were impounded by the EFCC, and put out of operation since then.

The EFCC in the case it filed before the high court said the NIMASA/Global West maritime security contract was a fraudulent contract. According to an investigator with the anti-graft commission, Ahmed Ghali, former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, defrauded the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency of about N23.8bn between April 2012 and March 2015, through a contract awarded to his company, Global West Vessel Specialists Limited.

But recently, after four years of litigation, the case was decided in favour of Tompolo’s Global West and ex-NIMASA DG, Akpobolekemi. The High Court presided over by Justice Ibrahim Buba dismissed the fraud case. Justice Buba held that the prosecution “failed to establish a prima facie case” against the defendants, and dismissed the 40-count charge against them.

With this judgment, stakeholders are now of the view that the arrest, detention and arraignment of the parties to the Global West contract were a mere political vendetta. And so was the cancellation of the security contact, which the present NIMASA DG, Bashir Jamoh, few weeks before the determination of the case declared a performing contract. Dr. Jamoh had told newsmen at a press briefing that the maritime security contract between the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and Global West Vessels Specialists Limited owned by ex-Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, actually boosted NIMASA’s revenue and reduced the incidents of piracy on the nation’s territorial waters.

A former top management staff of NIMASA that buttressed Jamoh’s disclosure said the contract actually boosted NIMASA’s revenue as the agency’s revenue profile jumped from between $10million-$12million per annum to about $19.5million per annum. Collection in local currency also moved up to N80billion from N30billion.

Maritime operators opine that if the Global West contract with NIMASA achieved all this including reducing the incidents of piracy on the nation’s waters, cancelling the contract and leaving the boats to lie idle and rot away amounts to reckless a waste of resources.

Meanwhile, it is not known what has become the fate of those multi-billion Naira bullet-proof fast patrol boats which had not been in operation or gone for routine maintenance since 2015. There is fear that some may have sunk where they are berthed, like some ships detained by EFCC, or may have become scraps. Sadly, no one has said anything about those boats since after the determination of the case

Nothing except the headline of the article suggests that NAF has truly deployed Super Tucano to Yola.
CAS only mentioned that the acquisition of such aircraft will be a game changer.

These operators should equally be given side arms/pistols like the SBS.

A c130-H of the cameroonian air force skidded off the run way during landing at the Maroua Airport. Heavy rain might the main course.
No injury from the flight crew but the aircraft sustained some damage.

A video of the accident. It’s hard to comprehend how a pilot runs out of runway in an aircraft designed for short takeoff and landing

I think it's either hydroplaning which is caused by too much water on the runway and thus prevent annihilates the breaking effects initiated by the pilot. Or the pilot landed short and ran out of runway. Guess it would cost us some money to bring back that aircraft to flying state
