Increased demands for Nigeria’s President of Igbo extraction and varying reactions to the call have elicited early interest in how Africa’s most populous country will likely chose its president in 2023. Though three years away, the demands and subsequent reactions have not only brought the politics of 2023 presidency to the fore, they have also raised the question of the chances of Ndigbo to produce the country’s president in 2023.The Nation

I will support Igbo to be president under PDP but not in APC It will be sad for northerners to continue to dominate igbo in PDP when Igbo has contributed a lot to d party. Meanwhile APGA should zone presidential to Yoruba to stop being a regional party |

Mraphel:You don’t have choice... Kalu and other interested igbos will contest APC primaries and the whole Yoruba tribe can’t do nada Make Yoruba go to primaries with igbos or they boycott... is easy Yoruba are stiff scared of igbos contesting Apc primaries Reason why they keep connecting igbos to pdp Forgetting igbos are also major in Apc... What else... |

Cheap blackmail would only work only about 10 percent of the population -- anyone or region that wants the presidency should go through the normal route. If denied the presidency, then do your worse (you have the constitutional right to do so). |

“We, in the north, don’t have any problem with the Igbo. The Igbo are in every village in the north doing business. The Yoruba are more skeptical of the Igbo, so they (Igbo) should reach out to them for 2023 presidency. The Igbo should go out, seek the understanding of fellow Nigerians to support their aspiration for the presidency but should not threaten or antagonize people. They should persuade them to vote for you,” Yakasai said.Lolz, all ds politicians sef, saying one thing and meaning another ![]() If u r Igbo and you fall 4 ds red herring, dn 'sorry' 4 u o If the north really supports an 'Igbo president', then PDP - d party SE has buried its placenta for the past 21 yrs- shd first hand d ticket to d SE and with d numbers d (same) north will deliver, its a done deal. Its a no-brainer! By then we know they mean biznaze! ![]()

Do we need good governance or Igbo Presidency. |

SmartPolician:bannylove13 I agree, that comment was less diplomatic and too isolatory. If you are igbo you have to be very careful how you reply yoruba persons campaigning for SW to produce APC candidate. You should disagree in a diplomatic and tolerant tone. Let other regions not see us as unbefittting, or found morally lacking in bridge building. Just my mind. |

Bannylove13:At the bolded is just your imagination that Yorubas are scared of Igbos for APC ticket. The last time we checked even in the PDP the last time people from the 2 regions contested the Yoruba man won in 1998 and 2003. Won’t it be a slap on the face of the Igbos if they can’t also demand the ticket from PDP that they’ve been so loyal to in last 21 years. APC won’t stop the SE and SW to contest for the ticket. One thing that will never happen is for the party to micro zone it to SE without contest. |

| Re: 2023 Presidency: Fresh Hurdles Before Ndigbo by seanfer(m): 12:32pm On Aug 09, 2020 |
flyingpig:I agre me totally with your comment. But do you know that those that abusing and breaking the bridge with other regions are far more than those that are building the bridge. Wait till this thread gets to 4 pages and try to read all the comments. Then you will see what I’m talking about. We can’t do without ourselves. Politics shouldn’t be something that we should be fighting ourselves for. Let all regions in the south contest and we support the winner at the end of the day. |

![]() Very nauseating topic! Igbos want Biafra, is that too difficult for you people to understand? Igbo presidency will benefit only the flag bearer and a dozen of his close allies, as against the interest of 70million Biafrans for at most 8yrs, and that keeps us longer in this irredeemable shyt hole.. God forbid!! Nigeria you see today can never be fixed unless we seperate, experimentation of different ethnic groups failed in Yugoslavia, it crashed in USSR, it won't survive in Nigg@ area ![]() we want BIAFRA short and simple |

Yoruba no get level guy... tribe wey sell a southern President for a Yoruba Vice President Why dem no think what other regions think? Position yourself In politics there’s no permanent enemies or friends.. Igbos are no begging for President... They’re contesting for president. Yoruba always make mention igbos should contest under pdp Wha happens to igbos in Apc that have ambition Guy this people will use propaganda and blackmail with acute smear campaign to confuse you in your backyard and you start questioning your ability Wake up Don’t fall for their antic Them are licking Northern balls to succeed... the North holds the chest board.. if they give you you play... seanfer:No party do micro zone ticket... either is south or north... On what condition did OBASANJO won? Typical Yoruba narratives.. Yoruba won wetin... Yoruba candidate lost election Nigerian candidate won.. even tho na Yoruba man.. Yoruba no support am till date When buHari won in 2015 .... same Yoruba people were laughing at pa OBASANJO.. Yoruba people caught Baba on camera running late for appointments and label it ... Baba was running out of Nigeria ... Na wen e suit Yoruba people dem go remember say Obansajo na Yoruba man... How many Yoruba interest did he represent OBASANJO is a Yoruba man... but much more different from all Yoruba politicians Others has tribalism embedded in their DNA..from olu falae to Awolowo and now the criminal that they now worship |

Bannylove13:At the bolded. Was it the Southern turn when GEJ was supported by the Yorubas in 2011? You’re here saying things you don’t know. Even in 2019 the SW who don’t have any candidate in PDP produced more votes for the PDP than the SE that has a candidate contesting. 2023 is around the corner and we will see the new agitation that you will come up with. In 1998 we know how your people gets to Jos and abandoned the SE candidate, same thing happened in 2003. |

| Re: 2023 Presidency: Fresh Hurdles Before Ndigbo by seanfer(m): 1:01pm On Aug 09, 2020 |
Bannylove13:2023 will come and APC won’t sponsor a SE candidate. Then you can continue with your agitation. You forgot that politics is a game of numbers, in 2011 when the SW supported GEJ against PMB who has a SW as his vice, you didn’t see them as tribalistic. You expect them to support GEJ again in 2015 when their son is on the ballot. If truly we follow the zoning pattern is GEJ supposed to contest in 2015 knowing fully well that the North were supposed to produce the president in 2011 to complete the Yaradua’s term. |

Bannylove13:I never said APC will sponsor SW candidate. I think you’re the one that’s delusional here. The odds for a SS APC flag bearer is greater. My problem with some people is that few days Ago Wike came out to say zoning may not happen in the PDP and none of those crying on APC didn’t say anything. |
