Get the imei of your lost phone, go to the police headquarters in your state with a typed letter containing every relevant information needed. Mind you, your letter should hv been counter signed by an IPO or any superior officer in any police station close to you before going to the headquarters for quicker response. Make photocopies.

One week after, not replied. Forward a reminder letter, reminding them of your earlier letter. And hope for a reply again. Coz office bureaucracy workout can be hectic. Their reply will determine if yur device can still be rescued or not.

Anyways,By the time yuar done - the money yu will use to pursue your request; will hv gotten yu a second hand phone to console yourself about the lost of your former phone. A ministry of justice lady that I know paid 16k to track her iPad n catch the thief, not for the phone but to see his face - the thought of a faceless man in the dark slapping n collecting her phone made her obsessed with getting to know that face just for a single minute, a single minute.
