If it was in a saner clime, he would have been sacked by now.

Bashir Ahmad had in the tweet shared in 2015, supported the death penalty for blasphemy which he described as his "belief".

The tweet read;

"I cant pretend or keep silent. I support the death penalty for BLASPHEMY. That's my belief and I do not and will never support #SaveKanoNine"

But will support the rehabilitation & release of so called repentant boko haram terrorists, who have killed uncountable people, abducted & raped many, as well as destroyed livelihoods undecided. It's just a case of being stupidly over religious.

Repentance enforced By Buhari's government, giving terrorists better treatment than the troops and victims of their acts of terrorism.

Useless people, but you can't support death sentence for repentant Boko boys. More reason Nigeria will never win the war against Boko haram. They have come to stay, the earlier we realize, the better for everyone.

I am against killing somebody for saying something silly about Allah or Mohammed. More so, being a Nigerian citizen, the superiority of the constitution to sharia law should give him reprieve.

However, my question is why should somebody blatantly and foolishly make a blasphemous statement when he knows the consequences in an Islamic society. Sing about love, life, corrupt politicians, etc but stay away from the 'trouble zone'. I think the condemned fellow is an emotionally unintelligent person.

The truth is that WISDOM is key in life. A wise man understands his environment. Even Jesus Christ was very carefully in choosing his battles with the Pharisees because he knew that any mistake would truncate his mission on earth before the appointed time.

By the way, Bashir Ahmed like most Muslims knows that it is too dangerous to condem the death penalty openly. It is about personal safety.

Death penalty for boko haram members too, instead they get deradicalization. Double standards.

Death penalty is a very extreme sentence in this modern era. Don't know why international countries are not putting sanctions on Buhari's government.

I've said it numerous times, that we don't belong together (the Muslim North and the Christian South). It's just a ridiculous union. These backwards Islamic characters should not share the same country with the progressive, enlightened, secular South. It's that simple.

When people begin to embrace Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB let it be remembered that it's very insensitive posts like this without consequences that fuel it. A Personal Assistant (P.A) by extension actually speaks the mind disposition of his principal in this case d Nigerian President. When d Principal feels dat his P.A has spoken out of place he must openly reprimand him in form of a sack or other punitive measures with an apology on top of it. Here in Naija an inflammatory statement like this goes without consequences. Blasphemy is speaking against God or objects of reverence, they should be killed but d real killer terrorists are pampered thru rehabilitation and reintegrated into d society. Nnamdi Kanu should come up with another name cos calling Nigeria a zoo is an insult to d animals living in zoos

What of the christian north? Are you not being self-centred? Did you choose where your parents should come from?

...evil persists when the good sit back and do nothing. Remember the woman who was murdered somewhere in Abuja during early hours of the day while preaching? One day things like this would be happening in the south also if we all sit back and do nothing now.

It won't and can't happen in Southern Nigeria. Perish your fears.

Well wouldn't it have made sense if he had keep shut instead of openly supporting murder (this is a secular nation not an Islamic nation)?

He's a special aid to the president and hence any statement made by him is attributable to the presidency. How then can the president of a secular nation openly supports death to blasphemer? It's really sickening.

I agree with you but he is an aspiring politician and may be selfishly trying to exploit the situation to boost his religious correctness.
