The Bible says people can be killed for lesser offences. Even Jesus (PBUH) was crucified for blasphemy.

Exodus 21:17 He who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

Exodus 22:18 You shall not allow a Sorceress to live.

These men are passing a message and testing the waters. but the guillible people from the south will not see through this. keep calling God and thinking the Northerners are your brothers. The same mistake made by the SE after the 1966 coup. e go soon clear for some people eyes...

Hypocrisy at the highest levels by the aggressors in 1966's now claiming victims in 2020.

This whole thing started when a group of igbo army officers, led by Major Nzeogwu, went around in 1966, KILLING the duly elected Northern Prime Minister of Nigeria, sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and killing Northern and Yoruba leaders, including the religious leader of the North, sir ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto! And leaving all igbo leaders alone, safe. Untouched.

This outraged the rest of the nation. Then Ironsi, an igbo general, came to power, following those killings.

Nigerians expected that Ironsi would bring the klllers to justice.

They sent him message after message, for 7 months, to bring the killers to justice.

He did nothing.

He just left the killers to walk free!

Yet they were millions of Igbos living in the north!

After 7 or 8 months of Ironsi's inaction, the northerners had had enough of this insult upon injury, this huge spit on their collective faces, and responded in a VERY PREDICTABLE WAY, by targeting Igbos in their midst. Northern officers then staged a counter-coup that killed Ironsi.

How can you slaughter the Prime Minster, plus their religious and political leaders, and ignore the murders, while you expect LOVE & LOYALTY, who dose that ?.

Relax. Their madness is limited to the North and South West.

We're looking forward to the day they try such in the South South or South East.

We go treat their fvck up, dem know.

Christianity means christ-like, Christians are followers of christ, exodus is an old testament book and there was nothing like Christianity before jesus was born, the Islamic Quran is just the adulterated version of the old testament.

Did Jesus murder anyone for not believing in him? Was Jesus a part of the Nigerian government? Was Jesus a media aide of Buhari?

I've said it numerous times, that we don't belong together (the Muslim North and the Christian South). It's just a ridiculous union. These backwards Islamic characters should not share the same country with the progressive, enlightened, secular South. It's that simple.
We Southerners are the cause of the unfavorable situation in Nigeria because we allowed the Northern Muslims to be feeling strong and above everyone. We are not one with them, we don't share the same history or whatsoever. And any time we are ready as a united force to pull out of this fake country they (Muslims) cannot stop us or withstand us.

Lol. Well, Jesus Christ is the Christian example. He was all about love. He delivered people from being killed by religious bigots.

Not once did Jesus approve the killing of a sinner. Rather, He says (John 8:7) "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..."

I am against killing somebody for saying something silly about Allah or Mohammed. More so, being a Nigerian citizen, the superiority of the constitution to sharia law should give him reprieve.

However, my question is why should somebody blatantly and foolishly make a blasphemous statement when he knows the consequences in an Islamic society. Sing about love, life, corrupt politicians, etc but stay away from the 'trouble zone'. I think the condemned fellow is an emotionally unintelligent person.

The truth is that WISDOM is key in life. A wise man understands his environment. Even Jesus Christ was very carefully in choosing his battles with the Pharisees because he knew that any mistake would truncate his mission on earth before the appointed time.

By the way, Bashir Ahmed like most Muslims knows that it is too dangerous to condem the death penalty openly. It is about personal safety.

But will support rehabilitation for so called repentant boko haram members, who have killed uncountable people and destroyed livelihoods undecided. It's just a case of being stupidly over religious.

Many people in this government don't support the controversial move to free Boko Haram terrorists.

However, they don't have a choice because the oga at the top okays it. Funnily enough, a Nigerian man does not resign from his job. He just dies there.

Death penalty for boko haram members too, instead they get deradicalization. Double standards.

Death penalty is a very extreme sentence in this modern era. Don't know why international countries are not putting sanctions on Buhari's government.

Good God why are Africans especially Nigerians so daft?

Muslims give your life to Christ. Following the doctrine of prophet Mohammed won't save you. You are still leaving the Mosaic way. It is good you believe in God but without knowing Jesus and the holy spirit, you may miss heaven. Jesus loves you, come to him.

If blasphemy was punishable by death in Islam, then the Prophet would have been the first one to order the killing of hundreds of his foes who later became his closest companions. With the exception of a very few earlier Arabs who accepted the Prophet as the Messenger of Allah , the majority of people of Makkah opposed him, humiliated him, cursed or blasphemed him or even tried to kill him, yet he preferred to practice forgiveness and to seek the divine mercy for them.

The old woman who used to throw garbage on the Prophet was visited by him when he did not see her throwing it anymore to learn that she was not well. When Suhail bin Amr, a poet who composed poetry blaspheming the Prophet was taken as a prisoner of war after the battle of Badr, the Prophet asked his companions to show kindness to him. There are examples after examples to prove that the Prophet never resorted to violence against those who were showing utter disrespect to him.

In a multi-religious nation like Nigeria, religion should not be the basis for the formulation of constitutions and laws, especially those that contradict international human rights agreements.

Shariah needs to be totally scrapped. It is against all forms of peace and human right convention.

Same with the monarchy system that encourages traditional worshippers to restrict people's movement.
