I’m not surprised for this placement of Osun. The state have always been placed at the top in any socio-economic stat either from World bank, UNDP, NBS, or other sources.

Osun State people once they see any small piece of Land even in their backyard they automatically start planting Maize and Cassava there. In Osun even if you are unemployed you must still at least have Maize and Cassava farm planted on borrowed land

Osun people are mostly traders and artisans, them sabi turn every opportunity to money.
Come and see them in Oshodi here especially their women, including the young girls that are not married.
They normally bring processed farm produce from Osun to our side here to sell.
Palm kernel oil, palm oil, black soaps, herbs, palm wine, bitter cola, cola nuts, local sponge, local dye, decorative Calabash, artworks, honey, campala, asho oke, these are some of the items I can remember.
They hustle and use the money to buy things they can sell when they get back to their various villages especially fabrics and jewelries.
And these they do week in week out 'cause they work with a set target.
So it's easier for them to gather blocks and start building a house.
How do I know all these?, they are right in the same shopping complex here with me, they pay for a store to keep their goods and rent a room where they sleep when they are around.
Their heads they work like clock, by six am they are out hussling they called that one early Momo.
So if they are being rated, it's because they have a system that works for them.
